"Dad?" Jace asks as Michael walks out of the locker.
"Son. Oh, Jace. I can't believe it. Son, you're hurt. How did you find me?" Michael says as he hugs Jace and then pulls away.
"You're dead. Valentine killed you. Valentine's...Valentine's here." Jace says as he looks at his dad.
"No, Jace. It's me. I'm Michael Wayland. I'm Jace's father. Look, I know what Jace told you both, but I've been here for ten years. Valentine took off and left me." Michael tells Jace and then looks over and speaks to Clary and Leya.
"I'm so sorry, Michael." Leya tells him.
"And Jocelyn Fairchild?" Clary asks.
"He took her with him. You are?" Michael says.
"I'm Clary, her daughter." Clary tells him.
"And I'm Leya, her other daughter." Leya tells Michael.
"Meliorn, the Seelie, told me that he was here with her." Clary says to Michael and then Jace collapses.
"Jace!" Leya exclaims as Michael and Leya grab onto him helping him up.
"It's Ravener venom. He kept telling us he was all right." Clary tells Michael.
"We have to find your father, not my father. Valentine's..." Jace says as he pants, and Michael looks through his jacket for his stele.
"He can wait, you can't." Leya tells him.
"His stele. Where is it?" Michael says as he pulls out the cup inside the card and Clary immediately takes it away.
"Back pocket." Clary tells him.
"Back pocket. Get it." Michael says he reaches into the back pocket and grabs Jace's stele and lifts up his shirt and runs it over the rune as Jace groans.
"What's wrong?" Clary asks.
"The rune is weak." Michael tells her.
"Ravener venom must be spreading. We have to get him help. We..we closed the Portal." Clary tells Michael as she looks at Leya who's watching Jace with tears silently falling down her face.
"Valentine's got a standing Portal. Let's go." Michael says as he and Leya help Jace walk.
