"Jace, hold him up!" Leya exclaims as she runs in front of Izzy and Clary as both Leya and Clary draws the sunlight rune and points it at the demon, and it dies and then Jace steps backwards and steps on the kid Halloween costume.
"Ah! I hate Halloween." Jace tells them as he picks up the fake sword and compares it to his seraph blade and then looks at the girls. ••• "Hey. Is now a bad time?" Jace asks as he knocks on the door as he and Leya walks into Alec's office and sees him and Magnus.
"Actually..." Alec starts to say but Magnus cuts him off.
"Not at all!" Magnus tells them as he turns to face them and Alec walks over and stands next to Magnus.
"What is it?" Alec asks Jace and Leya.
"On the hunt, we came across a Drevak demon." Leya tells him.
"Yeah, which is weird. Right? They usually keep to the sewers." Jace tells Alec.
"Maybe the holiday noise is drawing them out." Alec tells him.
"Yeah, it could be. The streets are packed with idiots in costumes." Jace tells him.
"Hey, I used to be one of those idiots." Clary says as she walks into the office.
"Shocker." Jace tells her.
"What? I love Halloween." Clary tells them.
"I love the Halloween spirit, but I think the costumes are stupid." Leya says.
"I love Halloween as well...every year, I would use my magic to decorate an entire city block in Brooklyn. Ah...fond memories." Magnus tells them.
"Brief ops on the demon." Alec tells them and Jace, Leya and Clary walk out of his office. ••• "I ran some tests on Jonathan's blood. The heavenly fire serum caused a reaction that purged all of his demonic essence." Izzy says as she Leya, Alec and Jace stand in the weapons room.
"So injecting Jonathan will burn away all his demon blood?" Alec asks.
"And his demonic connection with Leya. We finally found a way to separate you from your brother." Izzy says as she looks at Leya and Jace turns towards his girlfriend.
"So, once we remove the Twinning Rune, he won't have any influence over you. He won't be able to hurt you." Jace tells Leya as he cradles her head as he hugs her and then Leya pulls away and looks at Izzy.
"What will the injection do to him?" Leya asks.
"It will hurt. A lot. You'll feel it too. But only until the connection breaks. After that, both of you will be fine." Izzy tells her.
"Let's do it." Leya tells them and then smiles.
"Kiddo." Luke says and Leya and Jace turn to face him.
