"I stand before my fellow Shadowhunters...to receive the rune of the Angel. I take this mark to honor him...to bring his light into me...to join the ranks of the Shadowhunters the guardians of peace." Clary recites and then a silent brother draws the angelic power rune on top of her forearm.
"This rune of angelic power is long overdue. You are no longer a Shadowhunter in training. Cataleya Fairchild, please come up here." Imogen tells Clary and gestures to Clary to walk over to her friends as Leya walks up and stands next to Imogen as they face each other, and Imogen holds onto Leya's shoulder.
"You have defeated our greatest enemy. Valentine may have used to mortal instruments to raise the angel, Raziel, but you... prevented a wish from being granted. Cataleya Fairchild, may your heroism be a shining example to Shadowhunters across the world. And with that may I give you the Cortana sword." Imogen tells Leya as she grabs the sword from the silent brother and hands it over to Leya.
"Thank you, madam Inquisitor." Leya tells her as she takes the sword.
"Congratulations." Imogen tells her and everyone claps and Leya turns to face them with a smile as she looks over at Clary, Izzy, Alec and Jace. ••• "Congratulations!" Izzy tells Leya and Clary as she pulls them into a hug.
"Ah, thank you!" Clary tells Izzy and then they all pull away from the hug.
"Thanks, Iz." Leya tells her.
"How did it feel?" Alec asks Clary and she looks down to her angelic power rune.
"Ah...it hurt. No, it was...amazing. Just a little embarrassing with all these people around." Clary tells them.
"Don't be embarrassed." Izzy tells her.
"And you Leya how does it feel to get the Cortana sword?" Alec asks her.
"Amazing, but I think I'm still in shock that I'm actually holding it." Leya tells him as she looks down at the sword in her hand then back up to him.
"You are the hero of Alicante. You went hand-to-hand with Valentine and killed him, stop being so modest. I'm going to go look for mom. Clary help me?" Izzy tells Leya and then looks to Clary and they walk away from Leya and Alec.
"What you did was impressive, but there's more to the story, isn't there?" Alec asks her.
"Not this again. Alec, I told you everything I know." Leya tells him and then goes to walk around him but he steps in her way.
"Did you? I felt Jace die. He says he has no idea why, but I know he's lying." Alec tells her.
"Maybe you just felt him being stabbed. It was a pretty serious injury." Leya tells him.
"My parabatai rune disappeared. How do you explain that?" Alec asks.
"I don't know." Leya tells him.
"Well, Jace is alive. That's all that matters." Alec tells her.
