"Leya, don't." Izzy tells her as she Leya, Clary and Jace walk through the streets.
"No, Izzy, I knew there was something off about Sebastian...Jonathan whatever his name is. I never should've doubted myself." Leya tells her.
"He would've found his way into our lives, one way or the other. The only thing that matters now is taking Jonathan and Valentine out." Jace tells Leya. ••• "Jonathan!" Izzy exclaims as they walk into his apartment after kicking the door down and their weapons pointed at him as he sits there in the chair with his back facing them.
"Turn around and face us." Jace tells Jonathan.
"Where is Valentine?" Izzy asks and then she uses her staff and turns him around in the chair to face them and reveals the real Sebastian Verlac beaten and tortured.
"What did Valentine kill him?" Clary asks.
"He's been dead for days." Izzy tells her.
"Tortured first. This was the real Sebastian Verlac." Jace tells Clary and then closes Sebastian's eyes.
"Ave atque vale." Leya says.
"Hail and farewell." They all say and then Sebastian's hand starts to shake.
"Jace..." Leya says and Sebastian's eyes open and looks at Jace and it demonically growls and then speeds and jumps onto the wall as they all hold out their weapons in front of them.
"It's a possessing demon." Jace tells them.
"The same kind that murdered our mom." Clary tells them.
"Then we know how to kill it." Izzy tells her and then throws her whip at it and drags it down to the ground as Jace and Leya stab it and Sebastian's body shakes before it stops as the demon dies.
"We'll make them pay for what they did to you." Izzy tells Sebastian's body.
"We're going to make them pay for everything." Leya tells Izzy. ••• "Have you notified the Verlac family yet?" Imogen asks through the computer as Alec, Leya and Jace show up onto the screen.
"The Penhallow daughter, Aline, will deliver the message in person, Madam Inquisitor." Alec tells her.
"Defiling the body of a fallen soldier and turning it into a booby trap is sadly par for the course for Valentine, isn't it?" Imogen asks.
"The possessing demon wouldn't have done this on its own. The trap could only have been set using the mortal cup to command it." Alec tells her.
"So, he had it all along." Imogen tells him.
"And our intel shows he's also in possession of the mortal sword." Alec tells her.
"Do you have any good news for me today, Mr. Lightwood?" Imogen asks.
