"Lindsay...hey, have you seen Alec?" Leya asks as she walks up to her.
"He should be in his office. I just saw him there. Is everything okay?" Lindsay tells her.
"Yeah, Jace and I just wanted to update him on something. Thank you." Leya tells her and then walks to Alec's office and walks in.
"Sebastian. I'm looking for Alec." Leya tells him as she sees him sitting in Alec's office.
"Yeah, as was I." Sebastian tells her and then their phones beep and they pull them out and looks at them.
"And now we've found him. Urgent briefing at the Ops Center. Perfect timing?" Leya tells him.
"Yeah. Yeah, perfect timing." Sebastian tells her and then stands up and they walk out of the office. ••• "Sorry I'm late, I've been looking everywhere for Max. Has anyone see him?" Izzy tells them as she walks up to the group.
"Have you tried the armory? He's probably sharpening his blades for his first assignment." Jace tells her.
"I checked." Izzy tells him as she sighs.
"We have more pressing matters. Thanks to Dot's help, we now have the mortal mirror." Alec tells her.
"And you have it at the institute, and it's...well-guarded, I presume?" Sebastian asks.
"The Elite Guards are the only ones who know its location. It's safest that way." Alec tells him.
"Jonathan went after Elliot and Dot to get the mirror. Now, that he knows we have it, he's going to come back for it." Clary tells him.
"Agreed. Report back with any possible scenarios by which Jonathan and Valentine could attempt a breech." Alec tells them.
"Okay." Jace tells him and then he Leya, Clary and Sebastian walks away. ••• "What happened?" Alec asks as he and Leya rush into the room where Izzy and Max are and see Max lying on the hospital bed with his head bandaged.
"I don't know. I found him like this in my room." Izzy tells him.
"Oh, my angel. Max..." Leya says as she looks at him with tears in her eyes.
"We should send him to Idris. See what they can do." Alec tells them.
"The medics said that in his condition, he won't be able to survive the transfer." Izzy tells him.
"Max...we checked the institute's security camera footage. Whoever attacked him is somehow covering their tracks." Jace tells them as he Sebastian and Clary rush into the room.
"Has he been able to talk?" Sebastian asks.
"Not yet. He's unconscious." Izzy tells him.
"I don't understand. Who would want to hurt him?" Clary asks.
