TW - thoughts of death
After finding the fanny pack and whistle, the three had decided to go to the pool to see who they belonged to. Well, Max and Eleven had decided to go, Asher just wanted to go to bed. If he was being honest, he didn't want to spend this summer worrying about Billy; all he wanted to do this summer was get high and spend it with Dustin and Eddie, when he finally got back from his trip away with his uncle. He had already dealt with the weird problems of Hawkins once and he definitely didn't want to do it all again.
"Can I go home?" Asher asks the two girls "It seems like you two have this all sorted and you don't need me to be here."
"We do need you" Max says to Asher "You're the muscle of this group."
"But El has superpowers? Is she not the muscle?" Asher asks being confused. Out of the three of them, Eleven had the most power out of them all since she was the only one who could break someone's neck with just a wave of her hand, which Asher has always thought it badass. All Asher could do was punch someone in the face, so out of the two of them, Eleven was definitely the muscle.
"Yeah, which she can't use in front of people" Max bluntly says to Asher as she rolls her eyes "Idiot."
"But she still has them!" Asher argues back as they walk over to the desk by the pool where all the lifeguards are.
"Excuse me" Max says to them.
"No one in the water until thirty minutes after the last strike. And don't try and argue with me. You want to get electrocuted, go climb a tree" Sean says bluntly. Sean is the pool manager and a basketball player at Hawkins High School. Asher hates the living guts out of him, well mostly the fact that he just acted like he was better than everyone else. In Asher's opinion, just because you're rich it doesn't mean that you're better than everyone else. For instance, Asher is a much better person to be around than Sean.
"Yeah, we don't care, we're not here to swim... or get electrocuted" Max says to Sean.
"We found this" Eleven says, getting the fanny pack out of her coat pocket, making Sean look up at the three.
"Does it belong to anyone here?" Max asks.
"Oh yeah" Sean bluntly says "That's Heather's. I'll get it back to her."
"We could give it back to her" Eleven suggests, just wanting to know if the girl is okay.
"You could, 'cept she's not here" Sean mentions to the three, bailed on me today."
"Well, do you know where she could be?" Asher asks in an annoyed tone since Sean is giving them no help whatsoever.
"What is this?" Sean asks with a shrug "You three want a reward or something?"
"No" Max says with a sarcastic smile "We're just... good Samaritans."
"I believe that about you two but not about him" Sean says, nodding his head to Asher "Don't think that we forgot about what you did to Jason."
