After arguing with Mike, it was officially decided that Asher would be the bait. Asher was easily the most annoying person that Mike had ever met, so the best way to get Billy pissed off enough as to get Asher to somehow annoy Billy, and then once Asher had got Billy into the sauna, Eleven would distract Billy just long enough for Asher to get out so they could lock Billy in. The plan was flawless, apart from the fact that Asher hates it.
As much as Asher loved annoying Billy, he didn't want to do it if Billy was being controlled by the Mind Flayer. In his mind, if he pissed Billy off enough, he would also piss the Mind Flayer off as well, and let's just say, he didn't want to lose his life just because he annoyed some dickhead. It was a boring way to die, and Asher did not want his death to be boring.
"You good?" Max asks, walking over to Asher, sitting down next to him.
"Shouldn't I be asking you that?" Asher asks with a laugh, knowing that Max was stressed out. I mean, who wouldn't be if they were in her situation?
"I asked you first" Max says to Asher with a small smile.
"I'm always okay" Asher lies to Max, not wanting to bother her with his problems "That was a stupid question."
"Yeah, I don't believe that for a second" Max says to Asher, making him roll his eyes "It's about Mike's plan, isn't it?"
"That was my idea, he just made it seem like it was his plan" Asher corrects Max "If you're going to try and read me like a book, at least get your facts right, Maxine."
"Do you know why Mike thought it was a good idea to get you to annoy Billy out of all of us?" Max asks Asher with a sigh.
"Because he thinks I'm the most annoying bastard in the world" Asher bluntly says, which makes Max laugh.
"Well there is that... but he also knows that you're the only one apart from El that can stand up to Billy" Max reassures Asher "If it was any of us, we'd get our ass kicked, but you wouldn't."
"Are you good?" Asher asks Max, changing the conversation.
"I'm okay, I guess" Max says with a shrug "I'm just really hoping it's not him."
"It might not be, but if it is, we'll find a way to get that thing out of him" Asher says, putting his hand over Max's, trying to comfort the girl "I mean, we did it for Will, right? We can do the same to Billy."
"But what if it's not that easy?" Max asks "When it happened to Will, he trusted us and he was there with us the whole time. It's not the same with Billy."
"We'll find a way" Asher says, looking at Max "I'll find a way."
TIME SKIP BY ASHER BEING THE DEFINITION OF BOYFRIEND MATERIAL
Asher had an idea of how to annoy Billy which he knew would work, the only thing was, he was sure that Billy would probably try to kill him because of it, whether he was possessed or not. But either way, he grabbed the baseball bat he found before smashing the glass window on the men's changing room door, catching the attention of Billy.
