𝗥𝗲𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀

Walking to Skull Rock wasn't a fun experience for Asher so far. With Dustin and Steve arguing while leading the way; Nancy and Robin talking about who knows what and Max and Lucas both looking like they would cry at any moment while Asher walked awkwardly behind them was not a way Asher liked to spend his dad. However, he didn't complain, but instead, he was too busy worried about Max... and now Lucas. Asher had never really seen Lucas look upset, so he knew that something was bothering Lucas, so, Asher took it upon himself to check if Lucas is okay. It's a good thing that a friend would do.

"Hey, man, you okay?" Asher asks Lucas as he catches up to him "I know that you knew Patrick and all, so wanted to see how you're doing?"

"Uh, yeah. I'm fine" Lucas says to Asher, not looking up from the ground "It's just... thinking about Patrick, you know? I mean, it's... it's like, why him? But then, I remember this one day, he came to practice with a black eye. He said he fell, but clearly he was lying. It's like everyone Vecna targets has something in their life. Something that's--"

"Traumatizing?" Asher asks "Like it's haunting them or some shit."

"Yeah" Lucas says to Asher "I... I didn't really know Patrick, so it was easy to just look the other way, I guess."

"Yeah, a lot of people do that" Asher explains, knowing it from experience "Not many people actually pay attention until the person ends up dead. I mean, it's not like it's some random strangers job to make someone's life better."

"How are you doing with all of this?" Lucas asks Asher, knowing that everything going on his stressing Asher out. He could tell from the very obvious eye bags that are on Asher's face.

"Um, well my best friend is a suspect of three murders he didn't commit and the love of my life is getting hunted by this weird spell casting thing and my life is shit like usual" Asher tells Lucas with a thin-lipped smile "So, yeah. I'm great."

"This isn't all on you, you know?" Lucas asks Asher "We're all going to figure it out, together."

"But it's my responsibility to make sure they're okay" Asher tells Lucas "Apart from Dustin, Max and Eddie are the two people I care about the most in this world. It's my job to make sure nothing bad happens to them. I can't let anything happen to them, man."

"We're not going to let anything happen to them. We're going to figure all of this out" Lucas reassures Asher before he looks over at Max, who is walking alone "Why aren't you talking to her?"

"Because she'll want to know why I know where Skull Rock is and why I didn't take her" Asher answers with a sigh "I mean, all of that was before I met her. Why does she need to know?"

"Because she's a girl" Lucas comments with a laugh "She's just jealous, it's nothing to worry about."

"Oh, boom!" Steve happily says as they finally make it to Skull Rock "Bada bing, bada boom. There she is, Henderson. Skull Rock. In your face, man. In your stupid, cocky little face."
