"Wait! Don't open it yet. Ako muna, close your eyes first!" Saad ko at tumabi sa kanya. "Love, c'mon!"

Pumungay ang mga mata niya. "Ito na. . . ito na, kumalma ka naman. Parang ikaw 'yung nag-exam eh," he said as he closed his eyes.

"Whatever, Maxeus."

Minulat niyang muli ang nga mata niya. "You're calling me Maxeus again. Where's love now?"

I grimace at him. He's being so OA right now. Hindi lang matawag ng 'love' akala mo kung sino na ang umapi sa kanya. His eyes are pleading me right now. I refrain myself from teasing him and smiled at him genuinely.

"Love. . . will you please close your eyes and let me see the result first?" Malambing kong ani sa kanya.

He smiled at me before closing his eyes, still smiling even though he already closed his eyes. I just shook my head. Hindi pa rin talaga nagbabago. Nasa living room kami ngayon ng bahay nila at nasa portal kami ngayon ng Architecture Licensure Examination.

Maxeus really did take a BS in Architecture when we were in college, me on the other hand took a business course; really far from what strand I took when I was in SHS. I couldn't care less because the money that my Mom was talking about that night is not just money; it was all the savings and business that we had.

Kinailangan naming maging practical na magkakapatid dahil sa nangyari. Our financial stability was affected with Dad's delinquency. . . that's why instead of entering the course in communication which I've always dreamed about, I ended up choosing what's the best and practical for us.

Business course was really not my interest in the first place; but I had to choose it because we almost lost everything.

Ang lahat ng business namin ay nakuha ng mistress ni Daddy. Mom was begging him because she wanted to be treated. But the thing is, Dad was fooled by the girl he replaced to Mom. . . all those months of giving the access of our business, hindi niya lang talaga kami naisip.

No'ng una, ilang araw akong umiyak at humahagulgul dahil sa course na pinili ko, walang araw na hindi ako umiyak noong mga panahon na hindi ko pa natutunang mahalin ang Marketing.

I took a deep breath before proceeding on checking Maxeus' last name on the list.

Ramdam na ramdam ko ang pagbilis ng tibok ng aking puso. I looked for Maxeus' hand to hold it, I squeeze it when I found his hand. Lumunok ako at paulit-ulit nag-inhale exhale bago tiningnan ang mga apilyedo.

Napatili ako nang makita ang pangalan ni Maxeus. Inikot-ikot ko pa ang katawan ko habang tumatalon-talon at nagsisigaw. Bumalik ako sa kanya at nakita kong nakatingin siya sa laptop. I started to shake his shoulders while shrieking.

"Harmony! What the hell is happening?!" I heard Ate Monique ask from behind. I quickly looked at her with a smile—halos mawala ang ngiti ko at mapalitan ng tawa nang makita ko ang itsura niya—she's still wearing her pj's, obviously just got from her bed.

I roamed my eyes around and saw their helpers were already looking at us, waiting for me to answer.

Lumawak ang ngiti ko, halos umabot na iyon sa aking tainga. "Maxeus passed the ALE! He's also a top notcher, Ate Monique. He's ranked 3 for God's sake!" Hiyaw ko.
