Fracture II: Unfair Game (P1)

"I feel sorta like the odd-one-out here cause all of you guys know each other" Keiwa equipped his Driver.
"But tell you what, I got hands. Henshin!"
[Set! Ninja!]

"Come!" Koatycoon exclaimed confidently. It's also a bit cringe too.

[Ninja Dualer!]

With a shout, Koatycoon dashed forward swinging his dual blades. Mary waited calmly, twirling his magic staff. As Koatycoon's blades struck, Mary parried them aside with flourish.

Mary then spun his staff faster until it blurred. He aimed a blow that forced Koatycoon back on the defensive. The two then exchanged countless blows as Mary's staff shows its capabilites in being able to retract and extend freely.

Pressing his attack, Mary's staff suddenly split into tendrils that lashed out like snakes. Koatycoon crossed his blades hastily block the straining magical whips.
Seizing an opening, Koatycoon kicked off the ground landing a punch to Mary's ribs. But the blow seemed to pass through an illusion as Mary appeared behind him, staff raised high.

"Not fast enough!" Mary cracked the staff down only to meet air. Koatycoon had rolled aside and fired kunai pinning Mary's cape to the floor. He sent a kick right onto Mary's body kicking him away

Ripping free, Mary swiped a card through the air. "Magic Trick!" Playing cards rained as projectiles honing in on Koatycoon. He sliced through what he could, enduring hits from those he couldn't evade.

Weakened, Koatycoon planted a smoke bomb retreating into the cloud. Mary waved frantically dispersing it, but his opponent had vanished!

"Huh? Hey you scared? Come out here!" Mary shouted.
"Turn around!" Koatycoon appeared once again spinning the rounder twice.

[1,2! Tactical Slash]

A blow crashed into Mary's back sending him skidding across the ground. Koatycoon then jumped forward and delivered a powerful strike on Mary's neck. He then continued with three more slashes,  knocking Mary back hard.

"Yes! Get him!" Neon cheered excitedly.

"You heard her." He spun the round three times.

[1,2,3! Tactical Finish!]

The Ninja Dualer flew upward, spinning in mid-air, covering itself in fire.
"I win!"
It flew towards Mary, threatening to end him.

But then, an orange laser bullet interrupted the shot.
"What!?" Koatycoon yelled in surprise.

Looking up, he spotted an unwelcome sight - Pollen descending upon them with her Laser Raise Riser drawn.
[Laser Raise Riser]

"Well if it isn't my favorite pests," Pollen sneered, aiming her weapon at Koatycoon. She fired off a laser blast that struck him true.

"... You're wide open!"
Seizing the opportunity, Mary rushed at Koatycoon with his enhanced staff. He landed a flurry of heavy blows that sent Keiwa reeling. A jab to the stomach knocked Koatycoon's weapon away

"You're cheating! That's unfair!" Neon protested.

"No? I don't even know her. She just appeared and I took my chance" Mary shrugged.

Koatycoon was barely getting up when another shot hits him in the leg. He remembered the cruel things she did to Ayoko.
"... How damn convenient... Now I can beat you up." He sneered

"Grandpa!" Neon yelled.

"Oh shut up." Pollen retorted.
[Finish Mode.] The gun began charging up energy.
Mary also took his chance, he shut and opened the card deck again.
[Magic Strike!]
[Laser Victory.]

A devastating orange beam hit Koatycoon followed by countless staff strikes from afar away.The attacks resulted in a large explosion.

"Grandpa!!" Neon rushed down to help.
"Why are you calling him grandpa? He doesn't look old to me." Mary pointed out.
"None of your business!" Neon shot back.

Meanwhile, Keiwa stirred weakly. His gaze settled on Pollen with a venomous hate, remembering her past cruelties against Ayoko.

"Ugh. Die" Pollen pulled the trigger.

The laser bullet was shot away by Ace however, he then shot Pollen but she escaped. "Tsk." Pollen snarled.

Mary looked around confusedly, "... Anyways that's totally my win, yeah?"

The updated scores appeared briefly, so fast nobody caught any strange things.
Except...

"Ace...you didn't vote for him in the match. You didn't support Grandpa," she pointed out.

Ace met her gaze solemnly. "I had a feeling things wouldn't play out fairly. I suspected outside interference may tilt the odds."

Neon blinked, taken aback by Ace's foresight. "So you thought Pollen or someone might attack..."

Ace nodded. "Past events taught me not to place full trust in these games. I intended to abstain rather than risk a pointless points loss on a rigged fight."

His levelheaded analysis gave Neon pause. As usual, Ace had a method to his seeming detachment. Still, she wished he had more faith in Keiwa's abilities.
