[Minor Angst/Fluff]
The sky was a canvas of grey, heavy with rainclouds that had been threatening to burst all day. When they finally did, the world seemed to exhale, washing everything clean. At the corner of Oak and Willow, two women stood, drenched and trembling, the rain blending with their tears.
You and Dex had been walking aimlessly, words hanging heavy between the two of you. The breakup was supposed to be final. It had been your idea, driven by fear and insecurity, convinced that Dex deserved better than the mess you saw in yourself. But as the rain started to fall, so did your resolve.
You stopped under the awning of a small café, but it did little to shield you from the downpour. You looked at Dex, her brown hair plastered to her face, eyes filled with sorrow and longing. "I thought it was for the best," you choked out, your voice barely audible over the rain.
Your heart broke a little more with each word. "For who?" Dex asked, tears mingling with raindrops on her cheeks. "Not for me."
You stepped closer, your hands trembling as you reached out to touch Dex's face. "I thought I was doing the right thing. I thought you'd be happier without me."
Dex shook her head, her hand coming up to cover yours. "You're my happiness, Y/N. Nothing else matters."
The rain fell harder, but you didn't notice. The two of you stood, hearts bare, pain and love tangled together. Your resolve crumbled completely, and you pulled Dex into your arms, your bodies pressing together in the rain. "I'm so sorry," you whispered.
Dex held you tightly, her own tears flowing freely. "Just promise me you won't leave again."
Your foreheads touched, breaths mingling in the cool, wet air. "I promise," you whispered, your lips brushing against Dex's in a kiss that tasted of rain and redemption.
As you kissed, the world around you seemed to fade away, the storm a mere backdrop to the tempest of emotions the two of you shared. Your tears, once symbols of sorrow, transformed into a cleansing river, washing away the pain and leaving only love in its wake.
And there, in the pouring rain, you found each other again.
