[Fluff]

You'd only gone to the kitchen to tidy up for a minute while Cobie napped, figuring she'd stay asleep long enough for you to finish the dishes and clear the counters. The apartment was cozy and quiet, and you were just about done when you heard soft footsteps padding toward you. Before you could turn around, you felt familiar arms slip around your waist, warm and gentle.

Cobie pressed herself close, resting her head against your back. "What're you doing?" she mumbled, her voice soft and heavy with sleep.

You couldn't help but smile, placing your hands over hers. "Just cleaning up a bit," you replied, leaning back into her embrace. "Didn't want to wake you."

She gave a sleepy, playful hum, her arms tightening around you slightly. "Well, you did," she teased. "But since I'm already up, you might as well come back to bed with me."

You chuckled, turning your head to look at her, your eyes meeting her sleepy gaze. "I'll be there in just a minute," you said, trying to keep your resolve. "I just need to finish wiping down the counter."

Cobie's face softened into a pout, and she shifted her hold, pressing even closer against your back. "Counter's fine," she whispered, her breath warm against your shoulder. She buried her face against you, her voice muffled but sweet. "Bed's better. Come back with me, please?"

You felt your willpower slipping; the soft, affectionate tone in her voice, the warmth of her arms wrapped around you—it was all too tempting. "I really should finish this up, Cobie," you murmured, though your voice lacked conviction.

Without a word, Cobie loosened her grip just enough to turn you around, her hands sliding up to rest on your shoulders as she looked up at you. Her eyes sparkled with a mix of sleepiness and affection, her expression a blend of playful and sincere. "Think you've done enough for now," she whispered, reaching up to tuck a stray piece of hair behind your ear. "Besides, I'm the one who missed you."

Your heart softened at her words, and you wrapped your arms around her in return, pulling her close. She rested her head on your shoulder, her arms around your waist as you held each other, swaying gently by the counter. For a few moments, the world outside fell away, leaving only the two of you wrapped up in each other's warmth.

She let out a contented sigh, pressing a soft kiss to your collarbone. "It's so much better having you with me," she murmured. Her hands moved gently up and down your back in soft, soothing strokes, making you feel warm and safe in her embrace.

You smiled, your hands resting on the small of her back as you leaned down to press a gentle kiss to her forehead. "I didn't realize you'd miss me this much."

Cobie looked up at you, a gentle smile on her lips as she squeezed your hands. "It's hard to sleep when you're not there," she admitted softly. She rested her cheek against your shoulder again, her hand finding yours and giving it a soft, reassuring squeeze. "I sleep better with you close."

She reached up to brush her fingers along your cheek, her touch soft and filled with warmth. "You know, you're the one thing I never want to be without," she whispered, her voice filled with an affection that made your heart ache in the best way. "So please, come back to bed?"

You chuckled softly, your resolve fully crumbling as you looked at her, taking in the sleepy warmth in her gaze, the gentle curve of her smile. "Alright," you said, your voice soft as you tightened your arms around her in a final hug. "Lead the way."

She grinned, taking your hand and giving it a playful tug as she guided you back to the bedroom. Once there, she didn't waste a second pulling you close again, curling up against you as you settled into the bed together. She nestled her head on your chest, her arms wrapped tightly around you, her breathing soft and even.

Cobie let out a contented sigh, her fingers tracing gentle patterns over your heart. "Now this is better," she murmured, her voice barely a whisper. She snuggled closer, pressing a soft kiss to your shoulder as she closed her eyes, a peaceful smile on her face.

You couldn't help but smile back, brushing your fingers through her hair as you held her close, feeling the warmth of her body pressed against yours. Her breathing slowed as she began to drift back to sleep, her hand still resting over your heart as if to keep it close. And as you lay there, wrapped in her embrace, you knew that there was nowhere else you'd rather be.
