[Fluff]
Inspired by Apocalyptica's 'I Don't Care'The small apartment was dimly lit, the only light coming from a string of fairy lights draped across the wall. You sat on the edge of the bed, your fingers gently strumming your electric guitar, tuning it to perfection. The quiet hum of the amplifier filled the room, adding to the atmosphere of anticipation.
You glanced over at Robin, who was sitting cross-legged on the floor, her eyes fixed lovingly on you. The sight of Robin's unwavering support brought a mix of comfort and nervousness. You had been through so much shit in your life, weathering storms that had threatened to break you. But tonight was about healing, about sharing the depths of your heart with your favourite person in the whole world.
Your heart pounded in your chest. This song was born from one of your darkest times, a period when despair had nearly consumed you. Writing it had been a cathartic release, a way to channel your pain and defiance into something tangible. Now, with Robin by your side, you felt a glimmer of hope, a light at the end of the tunnel.
Taking a deep breath, you whispered, "It's called 'I Don't Care'." Your voice trembled with emotion as you began to play, your fingers dancing across the strings with practiced ease.
As the music flowed, your mind drifted back to those dark days. You remembered the suffocating weight of your emotions, the struggle to make it through each day. The lyrics were a reflection of your fight, your refusal to be broken:
"I try to make it through my life
In my way there's you...
I try to make it through these lies
That's all I do..."You poured your soul into every word, your voice carrying the weight of your experiences. Robin watched you, captivated, and you felt a surge of love and gratitude. Robin had been your anchor, your light in the darkness.
"Just don't deny it
Just don't deny it
And deal with it
Yeah, deal with it..."The song continued, and your eyes locked with Robin's. You sang with a fierceness that took even yourself by surprise:
"If you were dead or still alive
I don't care
I don't care
And all the things you left behind
I don't care
I don't care..."The final chord hung in the air, a poignant silence following in its wake. You set your guitar aside, your eyes glistening with unshed tears. Before you could say anything, Robin was on her feet, wrapping her arms around you in a tight embrace.
"Honey, that was incredible," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion. "I love you so much."
You held Robin close, burying your face in the crook of her neck. "I love you too," you murmured, your voice muffled but sincere. "Thank you for always being there for me."
As you pulled back slightly, you gently cupped Robin's face in your hands, your thumbs brushing away the tears that had escaped. "I wrote that song when I felt like I was losing everything," you said softly. "But you...you brought me back. You made me believe in love again."
Robin's smile was radiant, despite her tears. "And you made me believe in the power of music. In the power of us." You kissed her again, a series of soft, loving kisses, each one reaffirming your bond.
