[Angst/Fluff]

You were in the kitchen, humming softly as you chopped vegetables for dinner. The evening light filtered through the window, casting a warm glow across the room. You loved this time of day, the quiet moments before Cobie came home. But tonight, something felt off. You couldn't quite put your finger on it, but an uneasy feeling settled in your stomach.

The sound of the front door opening broke her thoughts. "Cobie?" you called out, expecting the usual cheerful greeting. But there was only silence. A heavy, ominous silence.

"Cobie?" you called again, more urgently, and hurried to the living room. Your heart skipped a beat when you saw Cobie crumpled on the floor, shoulders shaking with silent sobs.

Your heart clenched. You dropped to her knees beside Cobie, wrapping your arms around her. "What's wrong? Baby, talk to me," you whispered, panic rising in your chest.

Cobie clung to you, her face wet with tears. "I... I went to the doctor today," she managed to say between sobs.

Your breath caught. "What did they say?" you asked, already fearing the worst but needing to hear it from Cobie.

Cobie looked up, her eyes filled with anguish. "I have ovarian cancer," she whispered, and the world seemed to stop.

Your heart shattered. "No, no... Oh my God, Cobie," you murmured, tears spilling from your own eyes as you pulled Cobie closer. The news was like a physical blow, but you couldn't fall apart now. Cobie needed you.

You held each other tightly, your tears mingling with Cobie's. You kissed her forehead, her cheeks, her lips, each kiss a silent vow. "We'll get through this," you whispered fiercely. "I promise you, we'll get through this together."

Cobie's sobs quieted a bit, her grip on you tightening. "I don't know what I would do without you," she choked out.

Your heart ached at the fear in Cobie's voice. "You'll never have to find out," you replied, stroking her hair. "I'm right here. Always."

Your tears flowed freely, each sob wracking your body, but you held on, refusing to let go. Every kiss, every touch, was filled with a desperate, fierce affection, a promise of unwavering support. You could feel Cobie's fear, your own fear, but your love was stronger. It had to be.

Minutes, or maybe hours, passed as the two of you sat on the floor, wrapped in each other's arms. The storm of emotions began to ebb, leaving a fragile, tender silence.

You gently lifted Cobie's face, looking into her eyes. "I love you," you said, your voice trembling but full of conviction.

"I love you too," Cobie replied, her voice a broken whisper.

You kissed her again, softly, a kiss full of love and promises for the future. Despite the fear and the unknown that lay ahead, you found strength in your love. You held Cobie tightly, vowing silently that you would be there every step of the way.
