[Minor Angst]
Inspired by the RAMMSTEIN song Feuer und WasserYou stood at the water's edge, your gaze fixed on the figure swimming gracefully in the distance. Cobie. She moved with the elegance of a dolphin, her movements fluid and effortless.
Your heart thudded in your chest, a familiar ache you had come to associate with the sight of Cobie.
It wasn't just the allure of her beauty that held you captive; it was something deeper, something primal.
You felt a spark ignite within you, a fiery longing that burned hotter than the sun. You wanted to reach out, to close the distance between the two of you and let Cobie feel the intensity of your desire.
But you knew it was a futile dream.
Cobie was like water, elusive and untouchable, slipping through your fingers no matter how tightly you tried to hold on.As Cobie swam closer, your breath caught in your throat. You imagined yourself diving in, your body merging with the cool water as you followed in Cobie's wake. You saw yourself reaching out, your fingertips brushing against Cobie's skin, feeling the electricity that sparked between you. But it was only a fantasy. In reality, you stood rooted to the spot, unable to move.
Cobie didn't see you standing there, didn't notice the way her presence set your heart ablaze. To Cobie, you were just another face in the crowd, a shadow in the background.
Your hands clenched into fists at your sides, the frustration of unspoken desire coiling inside you like a spring. You longed to break free, to let Cobie know how you felt, but the fear of rejection held you back. Fire and water could never truly come together. One would always extinguish the other.
The sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows over the lake.
Cobie swam to the shore, her movements languid and unhurried. Her body glistened as she emerged from the water, droplets clinging to her skin like diamonds. Your eyes traced the lines of her silhouette, captivated by the way the light danced over her curves, and for a brief moment, her eyes met yours.
Your breath caught in your throat, your pulse racing. Did Cobie see you? Did she feel the same spark, the same unquenchable fire that burned within your soul? But then Cobie's gaze shifted, her attention drawn to something else, someone else, and the moment was lost.
You watched as Cobie walked away, your heart heavy with the weight of unfulfilled longing. You knew you would never be able to tell Cobie how you felt, never be able to bridge the gap between the two of you. You were too different, too incompatible, like fire and water. One destined to burn, the other to flow.
As the night fell, you turned away from the lake, your mind still filled with thoughts of Cobie. You would carry this flame within you, letting it warm you in the coldest moments, even if it meant you would always be left standing on the shore, watching from a distance as the one you loved swam away.
