"Just letting you know quickly, her mum was buried in our cemetery." Lucy nods and turns back to the child in her arms. "You saved her life, any later she might not be here as well." Tim says while side hugging Lucy. "I'm sorry for taking off like that, I know I-" Lucy was cut off, "I know. Your use to protecting yourself, I also know you are working hard to open up to others to let them help you. There's no shame in asking for help, but I know you're more than capable to fight yourself." He kisses her forehead, "now what are we going to name our daughter?" Tim asked Lucy. "What about Artemis?" "I love it. Welcome to the pack Artemis." She was looking up at them with a smile on her face. Her little fingers wrapped around Tim's finger. "Let's take her home." Lucy says while looking down at Artemis. They were leave when, "Lucy if you ever need anything just let us know. Nyla and myself can help you out, just ask us. Okay?" Lucy nods.
They quickly made a stop Zoe to determine her age, which they found out that she is nearly three years old.
"Tim, can we stop by my parents place first and introduce them to her." "Of course my love." They made their way to Lucy's parents, when they told the Grey's about her story. They were both loving and accepting of the little one, she was apart of their family no matter what. Luna and Wade both got a chance to hold Artemis, "Lucy she gorgeous. It's unfortunate that her mother died but you saved her, I know you'll love and protect her." Wade speaks to Lucy. "Wade, you're right. When the rest of the pack found Lu, she growled at a wolf for getting too close. Artemis is lucky to have such a fearless mum." Tim spoke up from experience. They end up going home, Tim set up an area in the cabin for Artemis while Lucy was cuddling her. "Babe, do you think she'll call us mum and dad or acknowledge us as her step parents?" Lucy rambled out looking down at her. "Baby, we'll be honest with her when she is old enough to understand and let her decide. But we'll always love her no matter what she decides." Tim kisses her forehead and Lucy nods to agree.
Artemis woke up in Lucy's arms, looking up and snuggling more into Lucy. "Hey baby girl." Tim spoke softly, Artemis smiles and reaches a hand out for Tim. Tim give her one of his hands, allowing her to wrap her fingers around one of his. "Mama?" Artemis spoke softly, Lucy eyes filled with tears. "I'm sorry darling but your mum is terribly hurt and won't be here with you." Tim did his best to explain it to her considering her age. "No mama? Me?" Artemis had tears forming in her eyes, a tear ran down her cheek. "I'm so sorry but no mama. We are going to take you in, providing shelter and protection. We'll care for you." Lucy wipes the tear off her cheek and she sat up on Lucy's lap. "You (pointing at Lucy). You protected me?" Lucy nods to answer her question. "Thank you!" Artemis got up and hugged Lucy, Tim placed his hand on Artemis back.
"Just letting you know, I'm the alpha of this pack and she is the luna." Artemis moves her head down and went to move off of Lucy's lap. "What are you doing baby girl?" Lucy questioned as she held her in place. "Showing respect, you leaders." Artemis replies looking down, Tim picks her up moving her off Lucy's lap and he gently tilted her to look at him. "You don't need to do that, we're here for you since your mum can't be. So please Ari, I know you were taught that but it will not apply here." "You sure?" Tim cups her cheek, "I'm positive." Artemis hugs Tim and he decides to ask, "Did you know your dad?" She just shakes her head, " mama was the only one there." Tim hugs her a little tighter. Lucy got up leaving them on the couch and started to make some food.
"She's nice." Artemis says while resting her head on his chest. "Yeah she is, she's incredible and a strong fighter. Now that you have entered our lives, she'll do everything in her power to keep you safe." Artemis sits there when she starts fidgeting around on his lap. "You okay Ari?" "My wolf." Tim pulls away from her and looks at her. "Your wolf wants a run but you holding back." She nods her head. "Why don't you transform?" "I'm scared." Artemis replies softly to Tim and he lifts her chin. "I know it can be scary, you'll be okay. Lucy and I will hear for you, do you want one of us to also transform?" Artemis nods, Tim picks her up and walks outside to his backyard. He put her on the ground.
"Ready?" Artemis nods, she watches as Tim transforms in front of her. Once he transformed she let go and also transformed. She was running circles around Tim, she then disappeared and hid under him. Tim was looking around until he heard the soft bark, he looked to see her under him, moving to look at her and he lays down. She walks up to him, nuzzling her head with his and settles down in front of him. Lucy watches from the cabin, she smiles at the interaction. Lucy's thought: God I love these two, they are so beautiful together. I'm so glad that I was able to save her. Lucy was preparing the food as she wanted to give them some time together, she was busy when she heard howling and looked outside. Tim and Artemis were playing together, so she decided to walk outside.
Artemis barks when she sees Lucy outside. Tim was laying down again. Tim's thought: Baby you're here, come over here with me. Lucy looks at him both turning her attention to Artemis, Lucy transforms and plays with Artemis before heading over to Tim. They lay together with Artemis snuggled up to Lucy, they all stay like this for a little while before getting up. Tim and Lucy transform while Artemis stays as her wolf. She was scared, even though she has transformed to human multiple times it still scares her. They both could see the fear in her eyes so they crouched down to her level. "Ari, it's okay. You're safe." She lifted her paw and tried reaching it out to Lucy, Lucy moved closer to her. "Does your paw her sweetie?" There was a small nod, Lucy carefully checks her paw to only discover needles in her paw just like what Lucy had. "Babe could you grab a bag so we can put these needles in it." Tim rushes off to get the bag and came back. "Ari it's going to be okay, Luce will be gentle with you and if you need to, you can bite my hand if there is any pain. I'll be fine if you do bite." Tim sits next to here while Lucy slowly and gently starts to pull the needles out of her paw. "Hey Ari, I'm just going to check your other paws." That's exactly what she did, once all her paws were check they comforted her until she was ready to transform back.
"Thank you." Artemis gave them both a hug, although she missed her mum, she had an amazing support system. She was loved by these people in front of her and she was happy to be accepted into their lives, so she built up the courage to ask her question. "Could I please call you my mummy and daddy?" She spoke ever so softly when asking them the question. Lucy and Tim looked at each other, exchanging their thoughts with each other. "Ari, we ....
