The next morning, he called to set up his dolphin experience and found out they had stopped doing it a long time ago. Apparently, our directory was out of date. He tried to hide his disappointment, but he didn't do a very good job.
We ended up going snorkeling, hiking, and shopping. We were too late and in the wrong location for the whale migration, but we found a dolphin-watching cruise. Min was recognized, but people left us alone.
When we got back to the cottage, we went for a walk down the beach. The breeze was picking up and it seemed a storm was blowing in. The temperature dropped several degrees, and that smell was in the air. The smell before the rain. The Japanese call it Petorikōru, or Petrichor. It was very romantic.
We started back to the cottage hoping to get there before the rain came, but we didn't quite make it. We were in sight of the deck when the bottom fell out and we got completely drenched.
We gave up and he took me into his arms, spinning me around. I had not played in the rain since I was a kid. Eric, Andrew, and I used to splash in the puddles in the yard and help the earthworms return to their homes – basically, we moved them from the driveway to the grass. But those days were long gone.
I giggled and squealed as he set me down on the wet sand. We laughed as the fresh drops fell. I held my face upward to the sky and let the drops bounce off of my skin. When I opened my eyes, he was looking at me like he had never seen me before.
He cupped my face in his hands and kissed me softly. I tasted the salt on his lips as his mouth claimed mine. The kiss was passionate and gentle. I didn't know those things could happen together, but he made it happen.
"I didn't think you could be more beautiful, but here, in this place... you are radiant," he stopped talking and just looked into my eyes. "I love you, Rileigh."
"I love you, Minhyuk." Our connection had grown even deeper over the past few weeks. I felt a current running between us that felt magnetic.
"Let's get you inside and out of these wet clothes. I don't want you to get sick." He kissed my forehead and put his hand on the small of my back, leading me to the foot rinsing station before we went inside to the changing area.
I shivered when the air conditioning hit my skin. He unbuttoned the top part of my dress and helped me get my arms free. The heavy fabric fell to the floor with a "plop".
I felt another shiver and he wrapped me in a fluffy towel. I pulled it tight around my arms as he dried my hair with another.
"You need to get dry too," I said as he moved to my arms.
"I will, but I want to take care of you first." He unclasped my bra and pulled my panties over my hips and let them both drop to the floor with the puddle of my dress. He pulled the towel back tight around me and hung my clothes on the line to dry.
He turned back to me and I reached to lift his shirt. He was just as wet as I had been and beginning to shiver too. He took it and lifted it over his head. His chest muscles glistened in the dim light. I just stood there and admired his body.
His transformation after military service had shocked Monbebes, but he still was not comfortable showing it off. I was the one he shared it with. His skin was like silk stretched over steel. I trailed my fingers over his pecs and he trembled. He held my palms against his chest and I could feel his heartbeat.
It was fast and hard. Being with him made me crazy. Made me lose control. I could see his erection straining against his shorts and I realized I needed him in a way I never had before. I stepped closer and tilted my face up to him, knowing he could see my desire in my eyes.
