Once we were close enough to Woodbury, the plan was already called off. The cars were gone. There wasn't anyone on watch that we had to sneak past. The place looked almost abandoned.

"Rick? Is that y'all?" Tyreese calls.

"Shit," Rick curses and pas my shoulder for us to run forward.

We keep our guns up, but they drop when we spot Sasha and Tyreese- leaning against the wall and each other. Both beaten and bruised.

"What the hell happened?" I panic, dropping to my knees by Sasha.

"Allen," she names, spitting out some blood. "Son of a bitch betrayed us."

"It's always the white, neckbearded mother-"

"Hyejin," Rick scolds.

I pinch the bridge of my nose with stress. "So, where is everyone?"

"Governor.. he took his army. They're going back to the prison," Tyreese pants.

"Can you walk?" Rick asks.

"If we could, we would've already been on our way to warn you," Sasha tries to joke.

"All right.. Let's get you two to a car. Nurse your wounds," I decide. "Daryl, Maggie, Rick, Michonne.."

"What?" Rick asks when I pause.

"Where the hell is Merle?" I question.

Daryl turns on his heel, looking around the empty area. "Merle? Merle!"

I give Rick a pained look.

"Go ahead," he gives in.

"Always the white ass rednecks, I swear to God," I hiss, putting Sasha's arm around my shoulder to lift her up. "Piece of shit, white trash, hillbilly, dixie-ass.."

--

For someone who could barely stand, Sasha could drive with the best of them. She insisted on driving because she was fast and she sure as hell was.

"What were you before?" I ask, gripping the dashboard as the car jostles.

"Firefighter," she answers. "Had to drive the truck more than I manned the hose."

"So, we have a firefighter, EMT, sheriff, veterinarian, and NFL player in our group?" Maggie muses.

"Oh, whoo-hoo Tyreese can throw ball far. Grr, manly man," I scoff. "I'm still certain Hershel has a stronger stomach."

"Got something against football players?" Sasha asks with a laugh.

"Dated one. Ego. Sweaty," I list off.

"What have you not dated at this point?" Maggie wonders.

"A decent human being."

Michonne laughs and the sound catches me off guard. It was just the four of us in this car. That was the first time I'd ever heard Michonne laugh. It was almost as startling as the first time Woojin laughed.

"Bethy was really hitting it off with Ben," Maggie sighs. "I wonder what Allen has been holding back to do this."

"He's mentioned it before," Sasha admits. "Before y'all came back from Woodbury- when we first arrived.. Allen talked about taking out Carl and Carol because they seemed easy. Ty and I had to talk him out of it. I guess we should've dealt with him there."

Sasha drifts the car to the side as we arrive at the prison- finding three vehicles already inside the fences.

"He'd only bring the army with him," Michonne notes. "Don't feel bad for shooting to kill."

"Governor is the priority. Slash him. Shoot him. Whatever you gotta do- just end him," I lead.

"I'm gonna stay in here," Sasha says. "I have an idea."

Michonne, Maggie, and I climb out of the car with our guns drawn. Rick and the others pull up behind us.

Then, Sasha revs the engine and flies into the courtyard.

"Holy shit!" I startle as Sasha runs a man over.

"Not a bad plan," Michonne says.

Not bad at all.

I wrap my gun around my arm and run into the prison.

We had an emergency exit set up for Carl to lead Hershel and the other kids out. I prayed that he already got everyone out and the prison was empty.

We walk into the field that felt like a battlefield immediately. Gunshots fire all around the place.
