Chapter 14

Flashback

Jungkook was sitting in his room with Mingyu when a servant arrived, delivered a message from Kai to Jungkook, and left. Mingyu firmly refused to let Jungkook go, but Jungkook reassured Mingyu that nothing would happen to him and left.

"Jungkook, please forgive me. I shouldn't have done that. Look, whatever punishment you want to give, Aena and I are ready to accept it. But Jungkook, just think about it-just as you love Taehyung, I love him too. When Taehyung rejected me, I got angry and took it out on you. Please, Jungkook, in court tomorrow, decide to forgive us both. Taehyung will obey your every word, and in return, Aena and I will take full jo responsibility for preparing your and Taehyung's engagement."

Aena added, "Jungkook, my brother is right. We made a mistake, please forgive us. If something happens to us, aunty will never forgive you. But if you forgive us, you will raise your status in the eyes of aunty and uncle."

After thinking for a while, Jungkook replied, "I will think about it and announce my decision in court tomorrow," and then left.

"Kai will jungkook forgive us tomorrow?"

"Trust your brother Aena. He will forgive us, mark my words."

It was nighttime, and everyone was in their rooms when Taehyung sent a message for everyone to gather in the hall. He also called Jungkook and Mingyu.

After a while, everyone gathered and tried to figure out the reason for the meeting. During this time, Jungkook and Mingyu also arrived.

Taehyung first had Jungkook and Mingyu sit comfortably on the couch.

Then he went to the king and asked for permission, "Dad, I have told you before that I like Jungkook. Will you accept us?"

"Whatever makes you happy, I approve of every decision. Yes, I accept Jungkook," his father replied. Taehyung kissed his father's hand and then went to his mother.

"Mom, do you have any issues with our relationship?"

The queen did have issues but didn't have the courage to say no, "As your dad said, whatever makes you happy makes me happy too. I have no problem with Jungkook."

Then Taehyung went to Mingyu, took his hand in his own. Seeing this, Mingyu tried to pull his hand back, but Taehyung held on tighter and signaled with his eyes that everything would be okay.

"Mingyu, I am asking for your consent. Since childhood, you two have been family to each other, so I am asking for Jungkook's hand. Will you allow me to marry Jungkook?"

Mingyu's hands were trembling, his heart was also shaking, breaking into pieces, bleeding. His eyes started to water. He wanted to run away from there, but looking around, he saw everyone staring at him. He looked at Jungkook, who was waiting for his answer. For the sake of his love's happiness, he said, "Kim Taehyung, if Jungkook agrees, then I agree too."

Taehyung then went to Jungkook, sat beside him, and asked loudly in front of everyone, "So tell me, Jeon Jungkook, are you ready to become Kim Jungkook?"

Jungkook whispered so only Taehyung could hear, "Tae, what are you doing? I'm feeling shy. And yes, if you're so eager to get married, I'll marry you." He winked.

Taehyung laughed loudly, picked up Jungkook and spun him around. After a while, he put him down and looking towards Kai and Aena, asked, "Does anyone have a problem with this relationship?"
