Chapter 51

Mingyu led Bam to where Jungkook was. As soon as Bam saw Jungkook he lowered his head in shame. Jungkook called them both closer and asked why they had come to see him.

Bam couldn’t hold back his tears and suddenly hugged Jungkook, crying his heart out. Jungkook just stroked his hair trying to comfort him with his silence.

After a few moments when Bam had calmed down he said to Jungkook, "Jungkook, please forgive me. I’ve always misunderstood you. I hated you because hyung loves you and not me. Because of that hatred, I did many wrong things to you."

Jungkook responded to Bam’s words  "Bam, there’s no need to apologize. I know what love can make a person do, which is why I forgive you."

Bam hugged Jungkook again as if trying to lighten the burden of his guilt.

Mingyu, who had been silent until now got Jungkook’s attention by saying "Kook please forgive me too. I’m guilty of leaving you when you needed me the most." Mingyu was trying his best to hold back his tears but with every word it became harder for him to keep them in.

Jungkook pulled Mingyu into a hug as well saying, "This is how the world works, Mingyu. Don’t burden yourself with guilt. Today along with Bam, I’ve forgiven you too."

Wiping his eyes, Mingyu said to Jungkook, "I know this isn’t the right time and I also know there might never be a right time but I still want to tell you what’s in my heart."

Jungkook and Mingyu looked into each other’s eyes as Mingyu gathered all his courage to speak. "Kook, I’ve always loved you and I always will. Every time you mentioned Prince in front of me, it hurt me deeply. But I was happy in your happiness. I always wanted to see you happy but I made a big mistake by not trusting you."

Mingyu took a deep breath, finally ending his 8-year wait. "I love you Jungkook. I’ve been in love with you for 8 years."

Tears welled up in Jungkook’s eyes. He was so emotional that it was hard for him to find the words. "Mingyu, please forgive me. I can never see you in a romantic way. My heart is dead Mingyu."

Mingyu placed his finger on Jungkook’s lips and said,

"Shhh! Kook, I never asked you to return my feelings. I just wanted to tell you what’s in my heart."

Then, they both hugged each other tightly. Bam who was standing behind them with tears in his eyes, watched it all unfold. It was a painful moment for him hearing his beloved confess his love to someone else. But this time, he wasn’t going to take any wrong steps he had accepted his fate.

Jungkook stood up and took a small box from the wardrobe. He sat Bam on the bed and took his hand in his own. "I know that Mingyu will never see you the way you want him to. But I also know that no one can love Mingyu the way you do, which is why I want to give you this ring."

Jungkook took out the ring from the box and placed it on Bam’s ring finger. It was the same ring that Mingyu had given Jungkook as a gift during their engagement, the last keepsake from his mother.

As soon as Bam wore the ring, he kissed his hand with happiness. This moment was incredibly significant for him.

Jungkook then turned to Mingyu and asked, "So mister, do you have any objections?"

Mingyu just smiled and shook his head and then all three of them shared a group hug as if all the bitterness between them had finally faded away.

As a month passed by, the entire palace was abuzz with excitement because tomorrow was the wedding day of Taehyung and Aena. Finally, Taehyung and Aena were going to be united.
