Taehyung took the letter from Aena's hand just as she turned and saw that Taehyung was standing there too. She started to get scared, sweat forming on her forehead, because Taehyung had seen her slap Jungkook. But at that moment, Taehyung was only focused on the letter and didn't think at all about Aena slapping Jungkook.

Taehyung was about to open the letter to see the writing when Jungkook snatched it from him and tore it up in front of everyone. For a moment, he was scared that Taehyung might find out that he was the one writing letters to him.

Taehyung was very angry at Jungkook's actions, but before he could say anything, Jungkook bowed to him and said, "Please forgive this insolence, Prince. I wrote this letter for Princess Aena, but she didn't like it, so I thought I should tear it up before the cursed words written by my cursed hands could reach someone as esteemed as you."

Taehyung looked at Jungkook’s words with a bit of surprise. He had never thought that Jungkook could write letters for someone else. But Jungkook's words and the tension on his face didn't give Taehyung a chance to understand anything.

Aena looked at Taehyung and then, trying to cover up her actions she said,

"Taehyung, I got very angry after reading Jungkook’s letter, so I came here and—"

Taehyung interrupted Aena and said, "Aena, you are the future queen. You shouldn't be coming to the servants' quarters like this. If there's an issue, you can come to me." Taehyung saw jungkook from head to toe.

Aena was astonished. Her heart was relieved that Taehyung wasn’t upset about her slapping Jungkook and she said with a smile,

"As you say." Then she shyly smiled and left the room.

Taehyung was still standing in the room with Jungkook. Seeing his beloved with someone else, Jungkook tried to control his emotions but he couldn't. Every time Taehyung humiliated him, Jungkook’s heart broke into pieces.

Jungkook stepped closer to Taehyung, trying to gather his courage to speak.

Jungkook gathered all his courage and looked into Taehyung's eyes, even though he already knew that Taehyung was going to break his heart again.

"Prince, don't you ever miss me?" he asked.

These words were simple but they held Jungkook's entire life, all his sufferings.

Taehyung looked at Jungkook blankly and then moved closer, closing the distance between them.

"Thinking of you only makes my heart bored. You must have realized your place by now..." Taehyung winked and walked away.

Once again, Taehyung's words hit Jungkook like a storm. His heart shattered into pieces and tears welled up in his eyes. Just like every other time, his heart was broken again, and he felt like all his efforts and all his love were in vain.

Jungkook clenched his fists and wiped his tears, saying to himself, "I have to forget Taehyung. I have to control my heart. This pain is becoming unbearable."

But deep inside, he knew that forgetting Taehyung wouldn't be easy because Taehyung was embedded in every corner of his heart, every moment, every second, making it even harder for him to live. He was tormented by his own feelings. He didn't want Taehyung's love, knowing that Taehyung's love was fickle. He only wanted Taehyung's sympathy, just a bit of compassion, and that too, only from Taehyung.

When Aena entered her room, she found Kai waiting for her on the bed. She knew why Kai was there but she was determined not to leave Taehyung at any cost because she was going to be the queen and Taehyung loved her.
