Taehyung sprinted through the streets, his mind a blur of pain and confusion. The chilling wind whipped against his face, but he didn’t care. All he could think about was Jungkook, his Bun, his everything. His heart pounded as he ran, each step echoing the desperate mantra in his head
"This can’t be true. It just can’t be."As he reached the cemetery, he fell to his knees at Jungkook’s grave, clutching the cold stone as if it were the only thing keeping him grounded. His tears flowed freely, mixing with the dirt below.
"Bun, please... please don't leave me like this," Taehyung sobbed. "I can’t live without you. You promised we’d be together forever. Please don't punish me. Not now.... atleast."
He lay his head against the grave, his body shaking with the force of his grief. The silence of the cemetery was deafening, only broken by the occasional rustle of leaves in the wind. Taehyung felt an emptiness engulfing him, a void that seemed to swallow all hope and light.
Nefa, Mingyu, and Bam stood at a distance, their hearts heavy with sorrow. They could feel Taehyung's pain, but they were powerless to ease it. They exchanged glances, silently agreeing to give him a moment alone, hoping he could find some solace in the silence.
As the minutes ticked by, Taehyung’s sobs gradually subsided. Exhausted, he sat back on his heels, staring blankly at Jungkook’s name etched into the stone. .
Suddenly, a soft breeze stirred the air, carrying with it the faint scent of flowers. Taehyung’s heart leapt in his chest. He looked around, hoping against hope that this was a sign from Jungkook, a sign that he was forgiven, that he was still loved. But the flowers did not fall. The breeze passed, leaving nothing but stillness in its wake.
Taehyung’s face crumpled in despair. He felt utterly abandoned, not just by Jungkook, but by the universe itself. His mind raced, trying to make sense of it all.
Taehyung clutched his head in his hands, the weight of guilt pressing down on him. He had carried this burden for so long, and now it was really too much for him.
Nefa couldn’t bear to see Taehyung like this anymore. He approached cautiously, kneeling beside him, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Taehyung, I know this is hard," he began softly, "but maybe there’s another way to understand what’s happening. Maybe Jungkook is trying to tell you something, not out of hate, but out of love."
“It’s nothing like that, Nefa. Don’t give me false hope. My.. my Bun hates me now. He... He made it clear in his letter,” Taehyung said, his voice trembling with pain.
Taehyung was completely shattered, broken in every way possible. He sat there, staring blankly at Jungkook's grave, tears streaming down his face. His body seemed lifeless, as if all his energy and will to live had been drained. Mingyu, Bam, and Nefa sat around him, their hearts heavy with sorrow, trying to console him.
Suddenly, Taehyung spoke, his voice soft but firm, as if he had made up his mind. He looked up, pulling himself from his thoughts, and said,
"After I die, bury me right next to my Bun. I want our graves to be so close that the soil of one merges with the other, so intertwined that no one can ever separate us.Then, from our soil, two trees will grow, and their roots will be entwined, just like our fingers used to be. And the branches of those trees will reach out and embrace each other, just like we did when we hugged."
Hearing this, everyone around him broke down into tears. Nefa, in a desperate attempt to comfort him, tightened his grip on Taehyung's shoulder and said, "Don't say things like that. We won't let you die."
Ignoring Nefa's plea, Taehyung continued, his eyes vacant and distant, "This is my last wish. Will you fulfill it for me?"
Nefa, tears streaming down his face, nodded, unable to speak.
