As he was about to fire a blast, Black cried out as the rip in the sky began to suck him in. "Wait--I'm not done...!" he resisted. Knowing he couldn't escape the stinging pull, he stared at the blue-eyed half saiyan. "Don't come back, Trunks."
He yelled, releasing an explosion of energy blasts that rained down.
Everyone was too busy protecting their loved ones to notice when Black was sucked back into the rip, closing it.
When the explosions finally stopped raining down and the dust settled, Trunks raised his head to the fire before him.
The Time Machine had toppled over, laying in pieces. It was covered in flames, burning away at his hopes of return home.

Trunks trembled at the sight. "How are we supposed to get back now...?"
"Giru!!" Niko hurried over to the fire. "Put out the fire! Hurry!!" he yelled desperately.
"Gi-ru, Gi-ru!" the robot rushed over. He opened half his body to release an extinguishing foam, but it hardly spurted out enough before he ran out. He coughed and strained to release more, but only fumes hissed out. "Uh oh..." He turned to his master. "Niko...?"
The teenager furrowed his brows. Even with his shaded glasses, the robot could tell Niko was devastated. "You did your best, Giru," he swallowed hard. "But, I won't give up just yet. Help me find some salvagable parts."
Niko didn't hesitate to pick out parts from the fire that was slowly extinguishing. Held in his hisses from the burns on his hands; he couldn't let his emotions get to him. He had to keep pushing through. Mom, Noemi, he clenched his jaw.
When he reached down, beaded bracelets slipped passed his long-sleeves. Several had the letter "J" in them. Jewel.
Niko froze. His stomach sank as the fear crossed his mind. I'll never be able to see Jewel again. Her smile--
He pulled away from the rubble. I can't think about that right now. I have to see them all again. We will, he convinced himself. He set the parts he salvaged in a pile Giru had been making.
Niko turned to see the adults had been talking, and even Piccolo and Krillin had arrived to join. He turned to his robot friend, "Giru, that's enough. You did good, buddy."
Giru let out a breath as he dropped the last salvaged part in the pile. "Are you sure you don't want any more parts? Giru can get more!"
The teenager gently shook his head, "Let's see what they're deciding to do. I'm sure Grandma and everyone will come up with a way to get back. They have to...," he spoke the last sentence quietly.
Giru settled on Niko's shoulder for comfort.
"Hey, Grandma," Niko started as she hurried his way. "Will these parts help with reconst--"
"Sorry not now, sweetie! I've got to go find it!!" Bulma hurried with Lima inside Capsule Corp.
"It?" he questioned with a raised brow.
Lima glanced back at him and shrugged, then hurried to keep up at Bulma's pace.
Niko pursed his lips and went to go join the adults.
"...It's become painfully clear that you and Black are nothing but trouble," Beerus finished scolding Trunks from his beach chair.
The teenager didn't step closer as he observed his step-father. He stared at nothing in particular, spaced out.
