Osas arrived by 8:30am she didn't predict the traffic on the major road she rang the bell and Mary answered. She told her that the dinner was set at the backyard so they walked there together
The heels were so uncomfortable for osas to walk in but she was treading carefully
The dinner was quite an elaborate one
The table was set for a feast and there was a standby for the chef and a waiter in uniform
Ivie was the first to notice Ivie coming from afar she rushed to hug her and welcome her to the table.
"Ohhh am so sorry am late. Good evening everyone" osas announced as she approached the table
"Am glad you could make it. Welcome osas"
"Ohhh hello sir, is so good to see you again how was your trip"
"Very well thank you. You look very pretty"
"Ohh thank you sir "
"Absolutely beautiful osas" Helen added
"Pls take your seat"
Osas nodded and scanned the eyes of the people present at the table. She went from Mr Erabor to Ivie and a dashing handsome Edafe and then Wendy
The smile on osas face faded off quickly, then she noticed an elderly couple next to Wendy and she just assumed they were friends of the host
Helen was saying something but osas was still trying to process the fact that Wendy is here too. She adjusted her dress and plastered a big smile on her face
"Wow! Everything looks delicious Grandma you've really outdone yourself this time"
"Oh thank you dear"
"You look lovely Osas" Raphael commented
"Thank you "
"Daddy inlaw" Wendy started with her sweet tingling voice
"You know you are so hard to find, I think this is the second time I'm seeing you this year and the first since our engagement so I think it's best to use this opportunity to address the matter on ground"
"Ohhh that's true and I haven't gotten a chance to say Congratulations in person. I'm excited that you've both decided to commensurate your union. I can't wait for you to be a proper part of our family "
"Oh it's an honor to finally bear the prestigious Erabor name. Daddy.,..." she turned to the other man on her left, the couple osas had thought to be friends of the host turned out to be Wendy's parents
"I think it's best for us to discuss the proceedings of our wedding I mean we've been engaged for over three months now and it's not everyday that we get the honorable professor to grace us with his presence "
They all laughed slightly
"Ohhh! I believe by tradition the bride's family gets to pick the wedding date and all that" Alfred responded
"Exactly and it actually falls down to the elders of our family" Wendy's dad elaborated
"Yes sir....."Wendy cuts in
"But you would agree that everyone that matters is at this table, they will have to work with whatever we decide on"
"Oh honey things are not done that way" her mom said
"Mommy...... this people can barely pronounce my name, I am sure they will understand besides my father is still very much alive so it's like am sorting for their opinion. You are all that matters"
She continued turning to Alfred's direction
"We want you to be a part of it and it's very important for us to work with your schedule and be sure that we have everything lined in order because I know how much your son values your consent and your presence "
