Wendy was leaving for their third therapy session and offered to give Claire a ride to her office coz she has an early meeting

"Ohhh! No! This traffic has started building up. Damn! I knew I should have left earlier "
Claire complained as they got to the major road

"Don't worry we still have time, we'll be there before your meeting starts. The traffic is not that bad... see it's moving"

Claire shook her head

"It's past 9 already, and don't you have your doctor's appointment today "

"Yeah!" She shrugged

"Are you not going to be late"

"Don't worry about it, I'll drop you off there and head there"

"Hmm! You do realize that the route are completely different. My office is in Ikeja so you have to head back to Victoria island for your appointment "

"I know"

"So how do you expect to make it there on time, especially with this traffic"

"Relax Claire! Am not complaining am I?"

"Yeah I know and I appreciate the offer to drop me off at work but I just hope you're not stalling on purpose or using me as an excuse to miss your appointment coz you can drop me off at that busstop and take a U turn back to your appointment "

"So how will you now get to work"

"I'll take a bus"

"No way! Why will I bring you here just so you can end up in a public transit besides I offered to help and that's exactly what am going to do"

"But that's how I've been doing it since my car broke down. I either use Uber or take a bus and when there's traffic like this buses can easily navigate all the short cuts"

"Well forget about it I'm going to drop you off at the gate so you want to wear this your nice dress in a bus. No way!"

"Well thank you for your concern but Wendy cmon we both know this is definitely an excuse to go in late for your appointment. You can't continue to put this off you will have to face him eventually. The whole purpose of therapy is for you guys to work things out not drag it on"

"Girl! You don't know what you're talking about, you don't understand what it takes for me to be going through this. I might sound like a little girl whining about the same thing but I know how bad this shit hurts "

"Trust me I know and am not even trying to defend him right now but you know deep down that you want to make this work...... you know it"

"Yeah I just don't know if it's worth it"

"Well! ....then at least you tried so you can just give up the chase, end the torture and tell him you don't want to be with him anymore "

"What?" Wendy was astonished

"Is that not how you truly feel just tell him that you don't think it's worth it to try again so you can both go your separate ways and move on with your lives"

"How can you even say that Claire. You want me to abandon my husband. Are you out of your mind"

"Ohhh! Am just saying it the way you make it seem so I don't get why you're getting upset"

Wendy cannot believe her friend, why would Claire want her to give up on her marriage she use to be their biggest supporter

"That doesn't mean I want to leave my husband"

"So what exactly do you want? Coz saying you don't think giving your marriage a chance is worth it is almost the same as saying you don't wanna be married to him anymore so what will it be coz you can either let him in or let him go"
