Wendy was sitting by the pool downing a whole bottle of wine by herself. She was exhausted from thinking, just sitting around and waiting for Raphael to show up.
She hasn't heard anything from him since and has no idea what he left abruptly for in the middle of night, something he couldn't talk to about
When Raphael got back to his apartment and he couldn't find Wendy in the apartment he got worried, he pulled out his phone to call her but her phone was in the living room so she couldn't have gone that far
He hurried outside to ask the security guard if he had seen his wife and he told her she was by the pool. So Raphael walked to the back and saw her sitting there drinking wine
He walked up to her and tapped her shoulders gently coz she didn't even notice he was standing next to her
When she raised her head to look at him, her eyes were so red like she hasn't had any sleep
"Hi! Can we go in pls" she nodded slowly picked up her bottle and started moving sluggishly to their apartment
When they got inside Raphael turned on the lights and turn to look at her but she was busy pouring the last drop of wine from the bottle to the wine glass
"You finished a whole bottle already. Wow! Babe" he cracked dryly coz she wasn't finding it funny
"First of all I want to apologize for not reaching out to you all this while. I am truly sorry for getting you worried"
"Where exactly are you coming from?"
"There was an emergency so I am coming from the hospital "
"Who was hospitalized"
"Osas! She had a bit of complication so we had to rush her to the hospital"
"With her pregnancy " he nodded
"So what's with the mystery? You could have told me. We could have there together......infact We should have there together, Am not crazy I wouldn't have asked you not to help her. I don't get why you stormed off like a madman in the middle of the night"
He nodded with his head facing down
"And why did it take you 32hours to find your way back home to me. Or even call me to inform me about what was going on"
He sighed heavily
"Because I need to tell you something and I haven't found the right words or right time to say it to you"
"What are you talking about?"
"Can we sit pls......?"
She sat down and crossed her legs tapping her feet gently to calm her nerves. She has always had this gut feeling that he was hiding something from her. She couldn't quite figure it out but her instincts are hardly wrong
"What have you done Raphael"
He ran his hands over his head and face stuttering with words unable to form a sentence
"Say it already. What's with the whole suspense.... You can just go right ahead and say it. And you better not fucking lie to me"
"I........got her pregnant Wendy" he looked away
"Got who pregnant?"
"Osas.....! The baby she's expecting is mine"
Wendy's jaw dropped and so did the wine glass in her hand. It slipped and scattered into a million pieces
Raphael flinched and shifted slightly away from her.
He didn't know what to expect, her reactions are always spontaneous and unpredictable
"What do you mean? Do you realize what you're saying? You got osas pregnant.....again. That means you slept with her recently"
Wendy picked her words one after the other coz she was processing a lot at a time and she was panting heavily
