It's half past four
She has to wake up in the middle of the night because the phone is ringing. The superstar she is responsible for has lost consciousness again. Nam only found out tonight how it feels to be too tired. She doesn't have time to get a pretty dress or even do her makeup. She is rushing out of her private condo to call a taxi instead of driving her own car because she is so worried about Becky.
Oops! When she opened the door, she was greeted with a sight that made her smile. Who would have thought she would see an image of a doctor sitting at the bedside, holding the hand of a patient?
If she hadn't seen it herself, she wouldn't believe it. But why is Freen taking care of Becky like this? Did the hospital call and tell Freen, or did she fill out the patient form stating that she is the emergency contact person?
Nam almost dropped her favorite expensive shoulder bag on the floor when she saw those two people in front of her. Freen held the hand of a sick person who had not yet regained consciousness and pressed it against her cheek, then slowly moved it to her own lips. Even though she couldn't see Freen's eyes, Nam could guarantee that there must be gentle feelings inside. Otherwise, why would Freen do this when Becky is unconscious?
Burglar! This is how Nam defines herself at this moment. She couldn't stand still and look at the patient for an hour as her legs were cramping. Because when she saw it, Freen didn't care who came into the room. So she had to tiptoe and silently walk up to the sofa because she didn't want to disturb Freen's kind-heartedness towards Becky.
"Please take your time. I'm very tired and just watching the news on my phone." She had an idea to secretly record a video for Becky to see, but when she saw Freen's eyes, it almost made Nam sweat.
"It's great that Jim is here."
"Nam, please, Freen. How many times have I told you my name is Nam?" Nam never wanted everyone to call her by her real name. But Freen always called her Jim.
"Yes, Miss Nam, it's good that you came. Then I will be able to continue working."
"You work at 4:30 a.m., Doctor?"
"Yes."
Nam knew it was just an excuse. Or maybe Freen herself was the one who told the nurse to call her in the middle of the night.
"Doctor, I don't know what happened between you and Becky.
But since Becky started working and she is under my care, she has never had anyone, Doctor." Nam's long speech ended with a slight gasp because she spoke without stopping, not giving the listener a chance to interrupt her opinions.
Freen remained quiet, but her hand was not released from the hand of the still asleep patient. She slowly kissed the soft palm, reminding herself that the woman in front of her was the same person who told her they didn't love each other anymore.
At that time, she asked for the reason and asked for a chance to make amends so that they could still love each other again. But what she received in return was denial. And she saw that this cruel woman let a blonde-haired young man from her group hug and kiss her.
That day, the pain from what she saw nearly knocked her off her feet in the room that was once their love nest. It was hard to get herself out of that pain. But in the end, Freen like her was able to leave that room and come back to sleep and cry in her own space.
Freen still remembers how much agony she felt. It hurt, and she remembers it! People always say this, but right now, Freen doesn't understand her own heart's feelings. Even though this woman once caused a wound in her heart, when they meet again, her heart is shaken by her. Now she is confused by the pain of the past and this woman's actions, as if she still loves her.
