"Congratulations Mr. Kang"

"You don't sound happy"

Taehyun said, smirking. The said person stepped closer to him but Taehyun stood unfazed.

"Of course I'm happy... My favourite person finally got a promotion... now I don't have to sit alone in my office and we can spend quality time together"

Taehyun scoffed and pressed his index finger on his chest, pushing him away.

"Sure... Mr. Choi"

Soobin smirked and patted Taehyun's back before walking out.

"Do you think they'll get along now?"

"To be honest, I think it's gonna get worse"

The coworkers whispered amongst themselves. Soobin and Taehyun were going to use the same office now since they were both directly going to work for the CEO.

It took two days for Taehyun to finally start working in that room. Soobin had helped him even though he didn't want to. He was happy for Taehyun for getting promoted but annoyed by the fact that he's gonna face him all the time.

"I hope we... get along, Mr. Choi"

"Of course"

They shook hands and both of them shook harder as their fake smiles turned into clenched jaws.

Everyone around was scared what would happen since they were the most important employees of the company who needed to work together now. But they were also the biggest enemies.

"Mr. Kang! I've told you not to have food in here!"

"Who made that rule? You??"

Soobin rolled his eyes and sat down. It had almost been a month since they started working together and yet their quarrels weren't getting them anywhere.

They heard the other employees running back to their seats outside and they knew the CEO was on inspection.

Taehyun and Soobin widened their eyes. Taehyun shoved the piece of bread in his bag, throwing the wrappers in the dustbin. They shifted their chairs closer, quickly finishing the last document they were given.

"I'll calculate this! Can you please list those?"

"Okay!"

They somehow managed to do it right before the CEO stepped outside their office room. They stood up and bowed to him.

"Mr. Kim"

He nodded and stepped inside.

"Are you two getting along well?"

The CEO asked without knowing what had actually been happening for the past years. These kinds of things never reached the CEO so they both smiled.

"Yes we are! It's a lot easier for me now since I have someone to help me"
