As I sit with the love of my life and my friends and we eat our lunch, I notice that Don is looking a little downtrodden. So I address it.
"Don," I say, "why the long face?"
He looks at me, sighs, and goes back to picking over his food. Which is a little more than extremely odd because speedsters are known for black-holing their food. And we all look at him in utter confusion.
Dawn answers for her older twin brother, scoffing and rolling her eyes before saying, "Funshine Bear's just depressed because he can't figure out how to tell Little-Miss-Perfect-Pinky-Pie, over there, that he likes her."
We all saw that one coming. All, that is, except for Elli. "Wait, seriously, Don? You've got a thing for Blossom?"
"Well, so what if I do?" he demands.
"I-I-I mean sorry, Don," Elli stutters. "Didn't mean anything by it. But she's just so... responsible, and you're arguably... not."
Jon elbows his twin in her arm and shoots her a very pointed glare as Don moves his food aside and lets his head hit the table with a loud THUD! Then he groans and says, "Aww... I knew it! She'll never go for someone like me! I should just abandon all hope of ever being with her."
"Wow, Elli," says Jon, still glaring at his sister, "with friends like you, who needs enemies?"
"Sorry, Don," she says, an apologetic expression etched into her features. "I didn't mean to make you feel even worse than you already do."
"Well, you gave me helpful advice, Elli," says Don, his head still on the table.
"No, she didn't," Jon swiftly corrects Don as I get his attention.
"Don, listen to me," I say. "You and Blossom are friends, correct?"
"Right," he replies.
"And you both enjoy each other's company, yes?"
"Well, that's right."
"Then it shouldn't be too hard to open up to her. She's easy to talk to, yes?"
"... I guess, yeah."
"Then, when you're alone with her, figure out how to use that ease of conversation you have with her to casually insert the fact that you have feelings for her and continue with your conversation. Blossom's highly intuitive. She'll figure it out."
"And who knows," says Jenny, "maybe she might feel the same way about you that you do about her."
Don ponders on this as he continues picking over his food.

Well, it's Valentine's Day. Don thinks fast on his feet in every other facet of his life. Let's hope his interaction with Blossom is no different.
As I think about the two of them, Don walks in, completely soaked through from head to toe, and he simply says, "Valentine's Day SUCKS."
"What happened?" Jenny asks, as shocked as the rest of us at the appearance of the soaked from head-to-toe Don Allen.
"I told her how I felt about her," Don replies, "and she caught it right away. Then, just as she was about to respond, it's like everything just started happening to me, all at once. First, my drink somehow got knocked onto her lap, and then as we were trying to clean her off, a stray tire came bouncing from out of nowhere about to hit her in her head. So, I naturally ran toward her to get her out of the way. Well, I got her out of the way, alright. Right into the school water fountain in the front, which we were eating on in the first place. Then, I got us both out of the fountain as fast as possible without using my super speed and quickly excused myself."
