Natsu was seven years, twenty-one weeks, nine days and two minutes old when he suddenly found himself holding Lucy's hand. Well he hadn't suddenly found himself holding her hand, he just couldn't remember how he came across holding her hand. He had been holding her hand for a while now and discovered that his hands started feeling... sweaty. Would that be described as clammy? Did that mean Natsu loved Lucy?

"Natsu, your hands are getting clammy." Lucy said.

"Does that mean I'm in love with you?" Natsu asked.

Lucy started giggling, "no silly. It means that our hands our sweaty, can you let go now?"

Natsu nodded and let go, the two of them wiping their hands off on their clothes. Natsu stood up and walked a few steps away from her, turning around he held out his fists.

"Come on, let's fight."

"Huh?" Lucy asked.

"Let's fight until Father comes back, I'm bored." Natsu said jumping from side to side.

Lucy sighed and stood, dusting the dirt off her before she lifted her own hands up.

"Good, keep your feet spread apart and your arms in. Make sure your thumbs are out when you clench you hands into fists." Natsu said.

Lucy nodded and listened to her, making sure her thumbs were out.

"Good, now come at me." Natsu grinned.

Lucu nodded and ran towards Natsu, pulling her fist back before throwing a punch. Natsu easily dodged it and tripped Lucy, making her fall flat on the ground.

"Get up Lucy." He told her.

"That hurt though." Lucy whined.

"If your ever kidnapped again you need to know how to defend yourself. The bad guys aren't going to go easy on you."

Lucy huffed and stood up, getting into her fighting position once more. She ran towards him again and started throwing punches. It was easy enough for Natsu to dodge, she had a pattern and once he saw it she could never hit him. Finally Natsu took the offensive and slammed his fist in Lucy's face. She tumbled back clutching her bleeding nose.

"OWWW!" She screamed and started crying.

"Oh, sorry Lucy. I keep forgetting your soft. Still a good lesson though, the bad guys might not hold back either." He said.

Tears rolled down Lucy's cheeks but she sucked it up and stood up.

"Natsu, get me my medical bag." Lucy said.

Natsu nodded and ran over for her backpack, running back and handing it to her. Lucy dug in and pulled out two tissues, stuffing them up her nose to stop the bleeding. She stood back up and glared at Natsu but all Natsu did was laugh.

"YOU LOOK RIDICOULOUS!" He laughed.

Lucy smirked as she threw a punch at Natsu's unexpectedly face. It hurt, not as much as his punch did, but still hurt.

"Nice punch, you need more power beneath them though." He said.

Lucy huffed and tackled Natsu to the ground, balling her fists as she put more power beneath them.

When Igneel came home he wondered what the hell happened to his kids. They were beaten up and bloody, bruised and bandaged up everywhere. It would be easier to just ignore that though and act as if nothing was the matter.

"I'm home children." Igneel said.

"Welcome home Papa!" Lucy smiled.

"Welcome back Father." Natsu said.

Igneel shook the supplies off his back and clawed through them for a certain item. Lucy started bouncing in her seat while Natsu dug a finger in his ear.

"Now I know it was here somewhere." Igneel muttered.

"Hurry up Papa! I want our surprise!" Lucy cheered.

"Here they are, well okay. Now Lucy, you've been apart of our family for a two months now and not once have you ever tried to run away." Igneel said.

"Why would I? I love you two." Lucy smiled.

"That is correct, and you Natsu. Even though you complain, you always listen to Lucy when she's teaching you and you've become smarter because of it."

"Sweet, not only am I strong, but smart too." Natsu grinned.

"So I got the two of you, these." Igneel said dropping the small bag in front of them.

Lucy reached out and tug inside of it, pulling out two identical black bracelets. Natsu stared at them the same as Lucy, only he was wondering where they were.

"Well what it is?" Natsu asked.

"It's a bracelet, well bracelets. You're supposed to wear them on your arm." Lucy said handing one to Natsu.

Natsu took his and watched as Lucy placed it over her hand to her wrist, copying.

"They're a little big Papa." She said watching it dangle on her wrist.

"Well you're pretty small, don't worry. They'll grow into you. I just wanted you two to have something in common so you'll always be able to recognize each other and also something from me." Igneel told them.

Lucy normally didn't like the color black or something so plain. It was from her Papa though so she loved it dearly.

"Thank you Papa, I'll make sure to take care of it." She smiled.

Igneel smiled and nudged his daughter with his snout.

"Yeah, that's Father. I'll try not to burn it off while we're training. Oh! By the way, me and Lucy were training and she's gotten a lot better!" Natsu smiled.

Ah, so that explained why they looked like that. Igneel chuckled, pulling his children close to give them a lick.

"I love you both so much."
