I just watched her exit the coffee shop then she walked across the parking lot where her car was parked.
Nagstay pa ako dun sa coffee shop and I have decided to change the way my story should start. Somehow I feel annoyed na I had to revise what I have already done just because of a stranger's random opinion about meet-cute.
Pagdating ko sa condo, I literally just threw my bag on one side of the room and sumalampak na ako sa sofa. I feel so exhausted yet I didn't really accomplish anything. Nakakainis.
I have already started drifting to sleep nung biglang nag-ring yung phone ko.
'Q, don't forget our photoshoot tomorrow afternoon.'
"May photoshoot tayo bukas?" gulat na tanong ko kay Jhoanna. "Bukas na ba yun?"
'Yes, which is why I'm reminding you. Kasi I know that you are writing again. And once you are writing you get so immersed into it that you keep forgetting the world outside of it. And the responsibilities outside of it too.' sabi niya. I sighed.
"Okay, okay. I will go there." sabi ko sa kanya. I took a deep breath. Mukhang mapapalaban nanaman pala ako bukas. Magdecline na lang kaya ako?
'Ate Aiah, tomorrow is an important event okay? I need my best photographer with me.' dagdag niya.
"Luh. Hindi mo naman ako kailangan bolahin. Anyway, yes I promise to be there." sagot ko kay Jho.
Minsan nakakatakot na sa sobrang close namin, minsan feeling ko nababasa niya na yung nasa isip ko kahit di kami magkasama. We've always been mistaken as twins and as siblings kahit na hindi naman kami related. Pero sa sobrang tagal na nga naming magkaibigan, connected na siguro talaga utak namin.
'Don't be late please. This is a big client for me.' sabi niya.
"I know, I know. I'll be there. I promise. Pero kailangan mo rin ako tulungan next week para dun sa kailangan kong commerical ah. I'm seriously losing braincells every second."
'Yes. I told you I'll help. And I know a few friends who can also contribute.'
"Great. See you bukas Tintin."
'Ayt. Goodnight Q. See you at the venue. I'll send you the address.'
"Fine fine. Wait, Jho, tayo lang ba tomorrow?"
'No. The twin OAs are coming too.'
"Okay. Sagot ko na coffee natin tomorrow." sabi ko sa kanya and narinig ko na nabuhayan yung tono niya.
'Buti na lang talaga friend kita. O siya. Go get some rest. Goodnight, Ate Aiah. Bye.'
I hung up the phone and pinikit ko na rin yung mga mata ko. For some reason, Mikha's face flashed in my mind and I was prompted to open my eyes again. Luh ano yun? Bakit ko naman siya naalala?
I stood up and naghilamos lang ako. Humiga na ulit ako sa kama until mahanap ko yung most comfortable spot para sa 'kin.
Ano na naman kayang mangyayari bukas?
