"How do I look?" I asked Jho na kanina pa ako tinutulungan sa pag-aayos.
Today is finally our wedding day. Hindi ko alam what to feel. I feel so nervous and excited at the same time. Mikha and I have decided to hold a beach wedding.
The first time we admitted to each other na mahal namin ang isa't isa was in Elyu and we want to keep the same memory by getting married by the beach. We didn't invite too many guests. We just settled to have our friends and families join us.
"Pretty as always." sabi ni Jho. "Excited ka na?" she asked.
Jho seemed like the best person to be my bridesmaid since siya naman talaga nakakaalam ng lahat sa buhay ko. Jho saw my struggles and now I want her to be beside me in one of the happiest days of my life.
"I don't even know what to feel." sabi ko sa kanya.
"Relax. Breathe in, breathe out." sabi niya. I followed her and I started to calm down a little. Jho just smiled in return.
"Jho."
"Hm?"
"I'm curious, nung gabi na nagpropose si Mikha, did you know she's going to do it?"
She smiled.
"Yes. Alam mo Ate Aiah, a few days after na sinabi ni Miks in public na taken na siya, kinausap niya na ako nun." sabi ni Jho.
"About?"
"She asked me if it's weird if she'll ask you to get married. She didn't like the idea kasi na people are taking photos of her with other girls, and that you'd get the wrong impression."
I also smiled back at Jho. Mikha has always been keen on making sure that I feel secured in our relationship. And even though it's hard sometimes, alam kong umiiwas siya na ma-issue pa siya with anyone else.
"What did you tell her?"
"I told her na what's weird is yung di pa naman kayo pero inalok ka na lang bigla ng kasal gaya nung ex fling -- ay sorry." sabi ni Jho after ko siyang tingnan nang masama. She laughed.
"Sinabi mo pa talaga yan kay Mikha ah."
"She's just hesitant kasi baka daw she's moving too fast. Ewan ko ba naman sa mga nagkakagusto sa'yo Ate Aiah! Lahat sila gusto pakasalan ka na agad. Sabagay, kahit ako, para sure, papakasalan na rin agad kita para di ka na makawala."
"Boang."
"Totoo naman. Pero ayun, I asked her to think about it first. And a few days after, sinabihan niya ako na she's decided." sabi ni Jho.
I couldn't help but smile. Sa totoo lang, habang nagkukwento si Jho, parang mas gusto ko na makita si Mikha and to just hug her.
"The plan was actually simple, aalis siya nang maaga kasi kailangan niya sunduin family mo sa airport, tapos susunduin niya naman family niya." paliwanag ni Jho. "She just didn't tell the girls kasi baka may madulas."
"She could have just said na may lunch siya with her family. Hindi naman na ako mag-aalala nun."
"Yun naman sana plan niya, pero kumalat yung pictures kasama yung jeweler. Who, by the way, was the daughter nung jeweler na gumawa ng engagement ring ng parents niya. Since family friend siya, trusted siya ni Miks na hindi madudulas sa media."
"Actually, nagexplain naman si Mikha about the girl. We did talk about it. Naguilty nga ako for judging her."
Jho chuckled.
"Ikaw naman kasi. Alam mo namang hindi ka magagawang lokohin ni Miks. Aiah ka na 'no!" sabi ni Jho. I laughed. "Pero buong gabi hindi mapakali si Miks, kasi ano raw gagawin niya if you say no."
