Today was the day that I had been dreading. It made me so nervous that I even took off work. I needed to figure out what the hell I was going to do about this whole situation. I wanted to believe that me traveling millions of miles away with baby is all I ever wanted to do from the moment I met him. But how could I just drop and leave everything behind- I mean I've never left Atlanta since I've came here. My grandma would kill me!

Last night, I had the strangest dream!
I sailed away to China,
In a little rowboat to find ya,

She didn't have much left, my grandpa died in deployment to Afghanistan. She never found someone new, to her it was like he never died. She always sung his songs and had pictures of him all over the house. Even sometimes I would catch her talking to herself about him. She always would tell me the stories about them and I loved hearing them because her face lit up every time.

He was her entire world, she never needed much more. Everyday I would ask why she never moved on and found someone new and she said she already met the greatest love of her life. There was simply no other heart like his that could fulfill the void of his death. I wanted something like that with Baby. Not a lot of good came from my life, and Baby was the first good thing I've ever known. I would have gave up on love a long time ago, but he changed everything about those perspectives.

Baby made me more certain that I was ready to go. But I had to break the news to my grandma and that might've been the hardest part about this entire this. I decided to take the bravest option and sit down and try my best to explain some things.

And you said you had to get your laundry clean
Didn't want no one to hold you, what does that mean?
And you said..

"Hey gram'." I smiled sitting next to her in her bed.

"Hey darlin' what's up?" She asked now turning her attention towards me.

"You know I've always appreciated everything you've ever done for me and giving me a place to stay but- this Baby guy he's different grandma." I smiled to myself.

"I've never met anyone like him and somehow I know he's the one. I know I've never had a lot of experience with guys but he's all I'll ever need." I explained.

"Where are you getting at?" She asked.

"Well what I'm trying to say is we want to run off somewhere together- someway somehow." I admit.

I felt a rush of nerves go through me, usually when most kids tell their parents that they say they're out of their minds and that he's just a boy. But I was more than ready to risk it all for baby.

"So go do it baby, just be careful." She shrugged.

Ain't nothin' gonna break-a my stride,
Nobody gonna slow me down.
Oh no, I got to keep on moving!
Ain't nothin' gonna break my stride,

Huh? I definitely wasn't expect that.

"Wait really?" I was taken back by her response.

"Most men when they say that it's usually in the heat of the moment. Just really think about if this is what you want to do." She assured.

"How do you know he won't stand you up?" She asked.

"Well I'm not." I admit.

"Well Janella, if you're ready hun' then go for it. But just be smart along the way you got a lot to learn and it certainly won't be easy but if you two really love each other It'll be all you ever need." She smiled.

"I just don't want to leave you by yourself gram." I sighed.

"Oh baby you won't, I've always got you." She smiled.

I'm runnin' and I won't touch ground.
Oh no, I got to keep on moving!
You're on a roll and now you pray it lasts
The road behind was rocky,

"Is there anyone I can leave you with? Anyone that can come watch you?" I asked.

"Janella I'll be fine hun'." She chuckled slightly.

"No you won't, I'll find someone and you better not be a prude." I warned.

"Oh please- I don't need someone to wipe my ass I can do it myself." She huffed.

I chuckled slightly now smiling at her. My grandma has always been a prude. Everyone said she was always so stingy but to me she was just a perfect angel. I'm her granddaughter so of course I got special treatment but she was my entire world. Without her I wouldn't know if I would be alive. I owe everything to her no matter at what cost, she was my savior and my protected.

"I love you grandma." I smiled.

"I love you even more darling." She smiled.

But now you're feeling cocky!
You look at me and you see your past,
Is that the reason why you're runnin' so fast?
And she said..

It was near 12 and I began walking to the diner. My entire life was packed away in a small duffel bag. It was sort of crazy how things can just fit inside. I never grew up with much so it wasn't like there was much to take. It was 12 on the dot when I had walked in and the diner was empty. Baby was usually on time to things like these so I knew the wait wouldn't be long.

"What you doing here Jenny?" Rick asked.

"Just meeting up a friend." I replied, I looked through the windows to see not even a car pass by.

"You do know we close at 12 correct?" He asked gathering his things.

"You do know I work here correct?" I mocked.

Ain't nothin' gonna break-a my stride!
Nobody gonna slow me down,
Oh no, I got to keep on moving.
Ain't nothin' gonna break my stride,

He chuckled slightly, "Look I won't be long- I could close up if you want." I assured.

"That would be great." He smiled passing me the keys.

I nodded as he went towards the door.

"Night' Jenny." He spoke before I heard the door close. Well it was official the countdown starts now. It was only a matter of time before he would show up right?

I'm runnin' and I won't touch ground,
Oh no, I got to keep on moving!
