They weren't here to take Baby right? I just got him back and I wasn't ready to say goodbye just yet. Baby looked at me with a nod, I wasn't sure what the hell that was supposed to mean. Buddy put the gun back looking at me the whole time and covering it with the news paper. The cop walked in slowly and looked around, I wiped my tears quickly and tried to look like I wasn't about to die.
This thing called love, I just can't handle it. This thing called love,
"Do you have a bathroom key?" He asked holding out his hand.
I nod now bending down to reach it, I handed it into his hand. Buddy gave him a pleasant smile as he went to the back. I looked in the window to see another cop just sitting in the car, Buddy pat the stool next to him and looked at Baby. I looked at Baby, I mean he wasn't going to do it right? Buddy is borderline psycho! Who knows what he was even capable of, although now I was even more worried as to what Baby was capable of.
Baby slowly made his way over to Buddy and sat down. Buddy looked over at me with a smile and grabbed his cup and tapped it. I looked over at the coffee machine and grabbed the coffee pot. I slowly walked over as Baby and Buddy looked at me. My hands were shaking and I could barely even manage to fill the coffee.
I overfilled the coffee to the brim and some of it spilled out, "That's plenty." He scolded me.
Baby looked over at him and I carefully set the coffee back. When I looked over at Baby, he looked angry.
"What do you got here baby?" Buddy took off one of his headphones and put it in his ear. I wasn't sure what he was listening to but Buddy seemed to have liked it. He was Bopping his head, and looked over at me.
Baby didn't like that not even one bit, his face grew angrier than before.
I must get 'round to it, I ain't ready, Crazy little thing called love.
"I'm never ever, ever gonna quit, cause quitting just ain't' my schtick'." He sung as he bobbed his head in Baby's face. He didn't like that, one bit. I couldn't put a name to that song he was just singing, But I knew it was by Barry White. Buddy snatched the headphone from his and Baby's ear.
"Shows over Baby." He titled his head slightly, he began rolling up baby's headphone around his ipod, "I guess you're still only the face of the music." He sighed but before he could move another muscle the back door of the diner opened, It was Sophia she had just walked in. I forgot the poor girl works here, she was still new so she never had regular shifts. I thought I was a one woman show this whole night!
"How you two doin' tonight?" She asked tying her hair back.
"We're doing just fine, ain't that right Baby?" As Buddy and I turned to look at Baby there he was holding the gun in his hand. Before I could fully register what happened, a shot went off making me drop the coffee in my hand. It rang throughout the streets, and the noise was loud enough to make me close my eyes and instinctively raise my hands to my ears. When I opened my eyes Buddy was on the floor, and Sophia just screamed now going to go hide to the back.
