Dance!

"Forgot how to use a phone?" A voice spoke.

"Hm?" I hummed now looking up.

I looked up to see it was Debra although she didn't look too happy, "You forgot to call yesterday." Debra crossed her arms.

"I'm sorry it must've just slipped my mind." I shrugged.

"Well how'd it go?" She asked.

Back door cracked,
we don't need a key
We get in for free.

"I'm an idiot." I groaned placing my palm on my face.

"Not to good huh?" She slid a coffee over to me.

"I don't know." I sighed.

"I mean I thought it was good- everything was too good. I thought the time was right and I tried to kiss him but clearly it was a mistake." I groaned.

"I say you always let the fellas' make the first move." Barba butted in.

She smiled now looking right at me.

No VIP sleaze
Drink that Kool-Aid, follow my lead..
Now you're one of us
You're coming with me.

"All I'm saying is he's a pussy for not making the first move." She grabbed two dishes from the kitchen.

"Thanks Barba." I smiled slightly.

We call her Big mama sometimes. Shes just as it's called she's a big woman- it never hurts her that we call her that. She wears it with pride she's got a big heart too you know? She's a wise woman. She's not too old but she's at that kind of age that deserves a vacation house on a beach somewhere sipping margaritas not working at some diner.

She's like everyone's mom sort of she's got 3 kids of her own they're all grown up now- although it's ironic all their fathers never stayed. I was always appreciative of how she cared for me not just me but everyone else at the diner. She's everyone's favorite waiter people come here and usually request her first.

"Where's jasmine?" I asked.

"She went to go visit her family in Chicago. I thought she told you." Deborah titled her head slightly.

It's time to kill the lights
and shut the DJ down.

"She did I just forgot." I slammed my head gently into my hands.

"What's wrong with her?" Rick looks up with a mugged look on his face.

"She's got a bad case of heartbreak." Debra teased.
