"Mum?"
"Yes, sweetie?"
"Why haven't Dad and Bluey come back?"
"Well..."
The door opened. It was Bluey.
"Bluey! What wer-"
"Not today Bingo."
Bluey went past the playroom and upwards towards her own, leaving a saddened Bingo behind alongside a worried Chilli.
Amidst their confusion, the next one to come in was Mariah.
"G'night Chilli" Stated Mariah in a rather worrisome tone.
"G'night Mary, how did it go?" said Chilli, the last part more so as a whisper, though.
"Well, i- I don't want to talk right now" she said as she signaled towards Bingo.
"-Yeah... Well we can talk during dinner! Right Bingo?" Chilli tried to appear calm and extroverted as always. Bingo wasn't buying it.
Up next, entered Mackenzie, who did not bother with an exchange and followed Bluey.
Last but not least came Bandit, who made eyes for Chilli, indicating her to accompany him to the kitchen.
---
Over there, Chilli spoke:
"Well, how did it go? I'm assuming not very good, right?"
"Well, you wouldn't be wrong. I think they hate me now."
Both sat in silence. They didn't need words to understand each other's feelings. Speaking about that...
---
Bluey and Mackenzie lied in the beds of the girls' bedroom. Not exchanging words, didn't need to, really. However, environment understanding only takes you so far.
"So... Blues?"
"Yeah?"
"What's gonna happen?"
"Well, I don't really know..."
"Was this a bad idea?"
"Ehh-"
"Yes it was. I shouldn't have dar-"
"It'll all be fine, okay?"

Back downstairs, Mariah came into the dining room, with a notable lack of Red Heelers by her side.
"Where is-" said both the older Heelers almost at the same time.
"She's watching Cat Squad, told her I'd get her something to drink" she said while she opened the fridge. "I called Finn, he's coming in a few minutes."
"I can't believe how we got here" this time it was Bandit who had some heavy emotions going on behind the scenes.
"Don't worry, we can find a solution and-"
"How do you find a solution to this? My kid- Our kids are now getting up to weird stuff! You can't tell me all of that forbidden knowledge came out of thin air!"
"Bandit. They kissed. I wouldn't call that forbidden knowledge." said Mariah who was a bit too over the dramatized Heeler.
"Today is kissing, what will tomorrow bring?!?"
"If you keep this up, a nursing home."
"Bingo?"
---
Back upstairs, our titular cou- I mean pair was now lying in the same bed. Bluey was trying to calm Mackenzie, even if she wasn't really good at it.
"Bluey?"
"Yes Kenz?"
"What would have happened if we didn't get caught?"
"Very likely? something like what Jack and Rusty were planning on pulling off"
"Oh, ok."
The room went silent. Confused rumblings could be heard from downstairs.
"Do you think they're talking about us?"
"Very likely."
"And what do you think they'll do?"
"Possibly not letting us see each other ever again, again."
"Do you think we should have complied the first time?"
"I've thought too much, you gotta think by yourself as well" said the Heeler in her signature sassy voice.
"I think of lots of things."
"Like what?"
"How all of this is probably their fault."
"Of our parents?"
"Nope, but it probably could be if you went back far enough" said the Collie in a more calmed manner "I was thinking more so 'Cap and Mia's fault' here."
"I mean, yeah sure. But I don't think it's their fault very much."
"Okay, so making out afront a bunch of 8 year olds is totally appropriate?"
"Don't try to lecture me in morality, you're the least indicated one for the job."
Both of their out-loud thoughts ended along those of downstairs, with a loud bang on the door.
---
"I'll open." Said Mariah still a bit in shock for what had happened seconds earlier.
She got out of the kitchen.
"Bingo! What are you doing listening to adult conversations?, and how do you know what a nursing home is?"
"Well, Kenz's Mum took the remote with her, and Nana doesn't care whether I'm there or not"
Bandit was rather confused (fed up, even) while Chilli gave him the looks of his life.
