"Night y'all" said the one who knocked on the door while coming in.
"Night Jaffie" said Bandit in an arrogant tone.
As it turns out, who knocked the door was Joshua Finn Murray-Ball, Mackenzie's dad. He also didn't approve of this, just like anyone else would. But unlike Bandit or Mariah, he wanted to pursue a more... nuclear option.
"So? What happened while I wasn't here?"
"Our son may now hate you for the rest of your life and beyond, for starters" stated Mariah in a tone that's both teasy and genuinely worried.
"...huh" "So? What's the plan of yours?"
"Well we were thinking to keep them from seeing eac-"
"Yeah that's a good strategy, however I ask you a thing"
"What?" Bandit was done with his college bud's attitude
"What happened the last time you tried?"
"This same meeting's reason to be..."
"That's why I propose a better alternative"
---
"I'm thirsty"
"Same. I'll go get us some water"
"I'm not letting you go down there alone."
"So?"
"I'll go as well"
Both got up from bed and went towards the kitchen, however by the time they got to the kitchen entrance, they managed to hear a bit of what was going on.
---
"This is what I propose we do" said Josh while pulling out some sleeves of paper from his bag and putting them on the bar.
Bingo immediately took one and tried to read it. "Kaw- Ka- Kawantas?"
Mariah's eyes opened up fully after hearing Bingo say that.
"No."
"Listen Ma-"
"No!"
"I kinda agree" said Bandit.
"What?" Chilli clapped back.
"It's the only way to-"
"Do you understand the-"
"I already paid for them!-"
"There's no way this is sustainable!"
"WHAT IS A KAWANTAS?!?!"
The room went silent.
"They're airplane tickets honey"
"Are we going on vacation?!?"
"... Not precisely"
"Mackenzie and his family are going on vacation for a very long time"
"But- how can they afford that and we can't?"
"Yes Josh, how are we going to afford that?" Said Mariah, in a teasier tone than before.

As it turns out, hearing that you're moving away for loving someone isn't particularly nice to hear. Both of our protagonists sprinted back into the room after hearing that.
Mackenzie entered first, Bluey followed soon after.
"What are we gonna do?!" She said.
Mackenzie's response was unintelligible.
"What?!?"
"You heard me right, I know it sounds terrible but you have to trust-"
"That's the worst idea I've ever heard, and I hang out with you daily"
---
"I already asked my boss, he can transfer me to the Wellington office. Ideally we should be there by next week"
"N-next week?" Tears were forming in Mariah's eyes.
"Don't cry! It's the done thing!"
"It's not the done thing Bandit. We've already gone over this" Chilli had enough.
"Fair enough" Mariah said. She had resigned quite quickly.
"You sure Mary-Yah?"
"Sure"
The room, however went silent. Something wasn't right.
