AT LONG LAST...OR MAYBE NOT!

Mia swiped her dirty forehead with her dirty and sweaty palms. It had become black from working with fire for the last few days without any stops. She was exhausted at this point but she continued with hopes that it would all soon be over.

"Well, don't be lazy. Get the steel and start shaping it." Donald yelled from where he sat, a couple feets away from the fire.

She sighed exhaustively and moved to do as he asked. The Pan was very hot. It was hard enough that she had to carry the pan over to where she needed to work and then moulding it to shape was an even harder process for Mia.

Not once in all that process did Aaron come by. That thought left a hollow feeling in Mia's already battered heart. He was the one who claimed that he was going to help her through it all and now, he was missing in action.

She shook the thought out of her head and she continued to work.

"Come on now, the last day is tomorrow. We don't want to be laid back." He complained.

Mia's ears twitched with anger. He was too loud and she was frustrated. All she wanted was to find a cure for her curse, not to work like a slave for ungrateful folks who wouldn't even acknowledge all her hard work.

After working tirelessly for another few hours, Mia could finally breathe a sigh of relief as she finally neared the final stages of the coin production which was to fit the raindrop-shaped diamond into the middle of the round steel, holding it in place.

Finally, her designs had come to life and it looked absolutely beautiful. Her heart swelled with happiness for the significant progress she had made in spite of all that she had to go through to make it.

She picked up the last coin and placed it under a dimly lit torch to revel in the beauty of her creation.

Let's see Miram try to take this away from me, she thought as a smile made its way to her lips. It had been a long time since she genuinely smiled.

She placed them all in a bag and sat up awake, refusing to leave Donald's workshop.

"You can't stay here." Donald argued, "you're done with the production so you can go back to your quarters."

"I'm sorry but I can't. I really don't want to mess this up so I'll just stay back here and wait till morning." She protested.

He looked at her wryly, "you are a pain in the as*. I have never had to deal with anyone as stubborn as you. Or had to deal with anyone at all except the Alpha of course."

Mia looked at him with pleading eyes and he just couldn't resist its charm. She had that kind of effect and it worked to her advantage, at least, with him.

Her golden eyes sparkled with a silent plea. He shifted his weight on one foot to the other and then pursed his lips together. She could see that his resolve was beginning to weaken.

"Oh, but I don't let anyone stay in the workshop. It's my safe haven. I fear that some things that are precious to me might go missing."

Mia knew he needed a little bit of more persuasion. He might be insufferable but at least, he wasn't so difficult.

"I know but then I've stayed here before and nothing went missing. Besides, it's only for the duration that this task would last. After tomorrow, it'll be over and I'll be out of your hair. I promise."

His eyes roamed over her tattered clothes skeptically before letting out a low grunt.

"Blasted she–wolf! I can't even get my own privacy now. Aaron will have to compensate me for this." He grumbled to himself as he walked out of the workshop with a torch in his hand and shut the door behind him afterwards, leaving Mia alone.
