My head was hurting badly. I came out of my room wearing an oversized tee and went downstairs to prepare coffee for myself. I took the coffee and went back into my room. I decided to settle down in my balcony. My head and body were hurting, and then I remembered the medicines Enzo gave me.
I went inside the room and grabbed them. I took the medicines and sat in the balcony, sipping my coffee slowly. I stayed there for some time, thinking about absolutely nothing. My eyes caught the attention of a book—the book that someone had gifted me, my stalker we could say.
I picked it up and started reading it. As my headache persisted, I put the book on my face and closed my eyes. As soon as I closed my eyes, flashbacks from last night came to me. Enzo helping me, buying me ice cream, walking with me on the beach, carrying my heels, me sleeping in his warm embrace on the seashore—all these memories flooded my mind. Suddenly, my door started banging, snapping me back to the present.
Flashbacks were giving me a good feeling. God, who's up this morning?
I went downstairs, opened the door, and there she was.
"Hey bitch, how are you?" Sofi greeted me with her usual energy.
"Sofi, I'm fine but what has happened to you? Look at yourself, you're a mess."
"Yeah, babe, I came here directly after checking out from the hotel."
"Woah, someone enjoyed yesterday," I teased.
"You can say that, but honestly it wasn't as good as I thought. Anyway, why didn't you drop a message when you reached home? Haven't I told you to do that before you left? Or were you busy with him?"
"Sofi, please. Actually, I just returned home an hour ago."
"What?! And care to explain where you were?"
"Wait, get me a coffee. I'm heading towards your room. Be there with the coffee and give me each and every detail, okay Elena?"
"Okay, Sofi. I really want to tell you what happened last night. So, go upstairs, freshen up, my closet is open, and I'll make a coffee for you."
"Do you want something to eat?"
"Get some cookies if you have any."
"Okay, Sofi." With that, I headed towards the kitchen and prepared coffee for her
I put the coffee on the table and sat there.
"Sofi, come fast, coffee is ready."
"Two minutes, babe," she called from the bathroom.
I resettled the things on the table, making sure everything was in place. When Sofi finally emerged, she sat in front of me and grabbed her coffee.
"Okay, Elena, start."
I told her everything, and when I finished, she looked at me with something I couldn't quite place.
"So, let me get this straight," Sofi began, her eyes wide. "You spent the entire night with Enzo Moritti, and he bought you ice cream, held you while you slept on the beach, and took care of you like a gentleman?"
"Yes," I said, feeling a bit overwhelmed now that I'd said it all out loud.
Sofi stared at me for a moment, then burst into laughter. "Oh my God, Elena! This is straight out of a romance novel!"
"Stop it, Sofi. It's not like that," I protested, though I felt my cheeks heat up.
"Are you kidding me? It totally is! He carried your heels, for crying out loud! And the way he took care of you... Elena, he's into you."
