Leaving the office early today, I decided to take a different route home, needing a change of scenery after a long week. As I drove, I noticed a familiar figure by a white Fiat parked at the side of the road. It was Elena. She looked frustrated and stranded.

I pulled over and got out of the car. "What happened? Why are you here on this quiet road?"

She looked up, clearly relieved but also embarrassed. "My car... a trash," she said irritably. "I called the mechanic, but it'll take him two hours to get here."

"Where are you going? Come, I'll drop you," I offered.

"No, sir, thanks. Besides, I have to wait for the mechanic, otherwise he won't be able to get the car."

I leaned against my car, considering her predicament. "I'll handle that." Pulling out my phone, I called one of my man and gave him the location. "The car is on the road; it's a white Fiat Fastback." Hanging up, I looked at her. "They will send the car to your house. Come in now, I'll drop you. It's already late."

She hesitated. "Sir, I'll manage. I'll book a cab."

I sighed. "And do you have any idea how long it will take for a cab to reach here? Get inside. I'll drop you. It's not safe, besides it's already getting late."

She finally relented and got into the car. We drove in silence for a while, the atmosphere growing more comfortable as the minutes passed. I glanced at her, noticing the tension slowly leaving her shoulders.

"Thanks," she said softly. "I really appreciate it."

"It's ok," I replied with a slight smile, which seemed to catch her off guard. She looked at me, her expression softening as she returned the smile.

Just then, the clouds thickened, and it started to rain. "I guess it's going to rain," she mused, more to herself than to me.

"Yes," I replied. The rain started to fall more heavily, creating a soothing rhythm against the car. "It actually started, and you were arguing to stay there all alone."

The city lights blurred with the rain, creating a picturesque view. I noticed Elena gazing out of the window, mesmerized by the scene. "You like it?"

"Yes," she said, almost dreamily. "See how beautiful it looks, and the shower is making it more beautiful."

An idea formed in my mind. "You wanna explore more?" I asked calmly.

She looked at me, hesitation clear in her eyes. "Ye...," she stammered.

"Don't hesitate," I reassured her. "I'm not your boss right now, and I'm anyway going there. If you want to come, I'll have company."

"Yes," she finally agreed.

"Ok, let's go then." I smiled, focusing back on the road. We drove out of the city, heading towards the hills. The rain intensified, but it only added to the beauty of the drive. Elena's excitement was palpable, and I found myself relaxing in her company.

As we reached the hilltop, the rain had stopped, leaving behind a fresh, crisp atmosphere. The view was breathtaking with the city lights twinkling below and the wet landscape glistening under the moonlight. I parked the car and got out, walking around to open the door for Elena.

"Here," I offered my hand to her. She took it, stepping out of the car with a grateful smile. She walked towards the edge of the cliff and stared at the view, her eyes sparkling with a childlike wonder.

I leaned against the car, watching her. There was something captivating about the way she took in the scenery, so absorbed in the moment. She seemed at peace, and I found myself feeling the same way, a rare sense of calm washing over me.
