It was a sunny Saturday afternoon, and the living room was filled with the chaos of flat-pack furniture components scattered across the floor. You were on a mission to assemble a new bookshelf, determined to complete it without any help. Alessia Russo, your girlfriend, sat nearby on the couch, scrolling through her phone but stealing glances at you every few minutes.

"Are you sure you don't need any help, babe?" Alessia asked, her voice tinged with amusement.

"I'm fine, Less," you replied, not looking up from the instruction manual spread out in front of you. "I can handle this."

Alessia chuckled softly, setting her phone down. She loved watching you in these moments, especially because of one particular quirk you had – you always stuck your tongue out when you were concentrating hard on something. Today was no different. As you connected a pair of wooden panels, your tongue peeked out slightly, curling at the corner of your mouth.

Trying to stifle her giggles, Alessia moved to sit closer to you, pretending to be more interested in the assembly process. She leaned in, her presence warm and comforting. "You know, you look adorable when you do that."

You paused, turning to look at her, a puzzled expression on your face. "Do what?"

Alessia reached out and gently tapped your nose. "This," she said, mimicking your concentration face, tongue sticking out.

You felt a blush creeping up your cheeks. "I don't do that," you protested weakly, though the grin on your face betrayed your embarrassment.

"Sure you don't," Alessia teased, leaning in to give you a quick kiss on the cheek. "But it's one of the many things I love about you."

You rolled your eyes playfully but couldn't help the smile spreading across your face. "Alright, alright. But if you're going to sit here, you might as well help me."

"Deal," Alessia agreed, moving to grab a screwdriver. "What's next, boss?"

The two of you worked together in harmony, Alessia following your lead as you guided her through the steps. Every now and then, you'd catch her glancing at you with that soft, loving look in her eyes, and it made your heart flutter.

As the bookshelf slowly took shape, you found yourself enjoying the task more than you had anticipated. With Alessia by your side, even the most mundane activities became special. Her playful comments and occasional stolen kisses kept you motivated, and before long, the final piece was slotted into place.

"Well, would you look at that," you said, stepping back to admire your handiwork. "We did it."

"We did," Alessia echoed, wrapping an arm around your waist and pulling you close. "And you didn't even have to stick your tongue out the whole time."

You laughed, leaning into her embrace. "Maybe not, but it definitely helped."

Alessia kissed your forehead, her lips lingering for a moment. "You're amazing, you know that?"

"Only because I have you," you replied, feeling a surge of affection for the woman by your side.

The two of you stood there for a while, basking in the sense of accomplishment and the warmth of each other's company. The newly assembled bookshelf was just a piece of furniture, but the memories you created together while building it were priceless.

And as Alessia held you close, you knew there was no one else you'd rather share these moments with.
