"He's just not good for you, I'd rather, like, Yoon.. Yoon- what's his name again?" Heeseung was referring to my colleague from the bakery.

"Yoonsik." I told him, and he snapped his fingers, looking over to me and nodding his head.

"Yeah, Yoonsik. I'd rather you be with him, just never with Jake." Heeseung spoke, and he must mean it considering he'd rather die than willingly say he'd let any guy be with me.

Though, it had me curious, what was genuinely so bad about Jake that I couldn't even interact with him. He was a nice guy, never had done me any harm at all, matter of fact, only ever helped me.

So, what was the deal?

"What's your problem with Jake anyways? You two are pretty close friends, right?" I decided to ask to see if he'd even answer my burning questions in the slightest.

"It's not the fact that we're pretty close friends, it's just that he's like me, probably even worse, he lives life on the edge and whatnot, you aren't like that. It'd be dangerous for you." Heeseung spoke, so I suppose it was almost like the same thing I said.

We're complete opposites and we'd never click because of how different we are and how we both view life.

"That's it?" I looked at him, a bit disappointed by his answer, since I pretty much said that from the start.

"That and the fact that he's my best friend. It's just a no." Heeseung scoffed, glaring at me.

"So what, if I suddenly became some kind of rulebreaker who rides a motorcycle overnight, you'd allow me to date him?" I decided to tease him a little bit, just because I found it funny.

I wasn't obviously going to become someone like Heeseung, or Jake for that matter, but still.

Heeseung gave me the glare of the lifetime, he was not impressed remotely.

"Well.. In a way, I guess yeah - but still n-" Before Heeseung could even complete his sentence, I cut him off.

"Noted, see you tomorrow when I pull up with my new motorcycle." With that, I head out of his room, hearing his calling for my name from the other side of the room.

"JI-EUN! WHAT? JI-EUN COME BACK HERE!!" His voice became muffled by the second, and then, just disappeared as I left the hospital, heading my way back.

A DAY LATER

Heeseung had been discharged back home, thankfully with no serious injuries. I haven't heard from Jake, obviously, it's been a day only, and we aren't really that close, so I expected this.

I was working the morning shift with Yoonsik today, and it was relatively empty this morning, so we just stood around and talked.

"Are you working on your birthday?" Yoonsik inquired, obviously since we had close birthdays we usually just celebrated together.

"Mmm, I don't think so, but I can still come into the bakery." I chuckled, scrolling on my phone as he nodded.

"I'm thinking, let's just make ourselves birthday macarons, we always have cake, so." Yoonsik messed around with something behind me, and I nodded slowly.

"Sure thing, wouldn't mind." I didn't pay attention to what he was doing, only until the bell at the front jingled.

I looked up from my phone, and immediately fixed my posture, slamming my phone onto the counter accidentally a little too loud.

It was none other than Jake, he took his helmet off, running his fingers through his messy hair as he stared at me, a smirk appearing.

"Surprise." Jake chuckled, heading up to me and leaning on the other side of the counter as he stared at my face in detail.

"Heeseung will kill you." Though, my lips could not resist a smile, the two of us just grinned widely, it must've been real awkward for Yoonsik to be seeing this.

But that wasn't what my attention was on right now.

"For wanting macarons?" He raised a brow, his devilish smile forming on his lips, "I just.. couldn't get enough of them." His eyes stared into mine as he said that.

I bit my tongue, trying to conceal myself and make sure that I, at least, don't embarrass myself out here right now, but he was making it real difficult for me.

"Mhhhhmm, alriiiight. Whatever you say." I chuckled, looking down and shaking my head as I tapped something into the register, "So just a box of macarons?"

He nodded his head, watching me as I entered his order onto the screen.

"You can go wait over there, if you want." I seemed to be oddly allured into his eyes, somehow, I just didn't want to look away from his face.

"I'll just wait here." He spoke, and leant on the counter, looking at his phone while I walked over to prepare his order.

"So, I was thinking like, birthday cake flavoured macarons for us? I don't know if they'll be hard to make though, do we even have any birthday cake extract?" Yoonsik still continued his rant over our birthdays.

"I'm not sure, birthday cake is a pretty boring flavour for macarons though." I shrugged, wrapping the ribbon over the box with the macarons.
