→ THE NEXT DAYI have no idea what took him so long to realise his phone was gone, but at one point I was just debating on asking Heeseung to give to him.
But unfortunately, I forgot, and instead, made my way to work.
I had a later shift today with Yoonsik, so we'll probably finish sometime at night.
Usually in the evenings there wasn't as many customers, so throughout the hours that passed, it was rather peaceful and the day mostly consisted of me and Yoonsik talking.
It was cloudy as hell outside, and from how heavy they looked, it made outside look much darker for the time it really was.
I could guarantee you, the second my shift was going to end, it'll start pouring rain, because that's what always happens to me.
I leant on the counter, scrolling through my phone with a sigh of boredom. There were no customers, and we were close to closing, droplets of rain already began falling, and the sky had only grew darker.
"Shouldn't we just close up now? I mean, literally nobody is going to come in now." Yoonsik asked, and I just looked up at him, then at the clock.
"It's fine, we can wait five minutes." I spoke, looking back at my phone and then at the windows, the rain had officially began pouring down.
I gave a large sigh to myself, well this was great.
It was very close to closing down the bakery, however, a motorcycle pulled up on the side, and I was genuinely wondering whether this was the same girl as last time.
They didn't take the helmet off, just quickly rushed inside, they took the helmet off, panting quickly.
To my own surprise, it was Jake. Yoonsik stared at him too, we both literally had no words.
Jake was focused solely on me, observing my face as I just looked at him, frozen.
"Ji-eun, did I leave my phone at yours?" He inquired, his eyes never leaving my face once.
"Uh, yeah, I was wondering what to do with it. It's on my desk." I told him, untying my apron and preparing to close down the bakery.
"You finishing now? Let me take you home." Jake seemed to be in a hurry, I looked at him, a little unsure.
He seemed to notice my uneasiness about the fact that he rides a motorcycle, and I wasn't particularly the most in favour of those.
"I'll drive safely." He added, speaking in a softer tone as I gave a small chuckle.
"Okay, fine, whatever." I agreed, I wouldn't of passed up on the offer anyways, you must be out of your mind to do something like that.
After closing, Yoonsik left quickly, not even saying goodbye to me or anything, just left.
I stood outside, rain pellets falling down on me. Jake grabbed his helmet, and put it onto me, flipping the chin piece upwards.
He got on, and I got on behind him. It felt real awkward, having to put my arms around him, the rain poured all over us though as he began driving off.
Sure, it felt nice, the cold air, the feeling of going decently fast in this weather, but still, I could not help but feel absolutely terrified.
I didn't even realise that I was literally holding onto him for dear life, we were stopped at a red light, and he turned his body to look at me, flipping up the visor to look at me.
The rain was all over him, literally soaked him to death. But despite that, he looked fine as hell.
"You don't need to be so scared, I wouldn't even dare to put you in any danger Ji-eun." Jake chuckled to himself at how horrified I looked. He flipped the helmet piece back down, turning around and continuing to drive towards the direction of my house.
Eventually, we made it there, and I quickly took the helmet off, stepping off the motorcycle and thanking any higher being that I had the privilege of being on the ground again.
Jake seemed to find it amusing how fast I hurried inside. He parked his motorcycle outside, heading in with me.
"Do you want a towel? You're.. uh.. soaked as hell." I looked at his face, which simply carried a smirk on it. His shirt stuck to his abs, and I turned around, heading straight upstairs in order for me to not start fantasising about this man.
"Would be nice." He followed behind, giving a groan of relief at being out of the rain, "You know what, it kind of surprised me that you're so different to Heeseung." Jake started a whole new conversation as I threw him a towel, heading into my room and handing his phone to him.
I sat on the edge of my bed, looking at my phone as he sat on my chair, spinning around as he dried his face, hair and attempted to dry his clothes.
"Everybody seems to say this. I don't know, I just don't really like the life he lives." I shrugged, giving a small sigh as Jake focused his gaze onto my face.
