As Yoonsik continued, basically, talking to himself over this matter, I slid the box over to Jake, who just swiped his card and looked over at me.
"When's your birthday?" He inquired out of nowhere, probably after overhearing Yoonsik.
"Mm, six days from today." I chuckled, and there was a small thought in his mind.
"Is that so? How come Heeseung never said anything? You two will be the same age soon enough then." Jake's lips curved into a small smile, whereas I just gave a quiet laugh.
"You really like to frustrate Heeseung, don't you?" I gave a laugh as he did too, knowing fine well that if Heeseung heard this conversation, he wouldn't enjoy it at all.
"So you think I'm hitting on you, again, huh." Jake said, though judging from how smiley his face was, it was clear that he was.
"Am I lying?" I grinned, his smile was all I needed for an answer as he took his box of macarons, looking back at me as he held the handle to the door.
"Not really." Jake chuckled, having the last word before he settled off on his motorcycle.
My cheeks were genuinely hurting from how much this guy had me smiling, even though he left, I was still smiling over this, literally having a full on replay of the scenario in the head.
But my smile quickly diminished as Yoonsik began questioning me on Jake.
"Who was that?" He looked out of the window, curious as to who had me smiling like that.
"Just some guy." I cleared my throat, pressing my lips together as I just messed around with some things on the counter.
"Is he one of your brother's friends? He mentioned Heeseung." Yoonsik would clearly not let this matter go, but it's whatever.
"Yeah, he's my brother's best friend, we run into each other a lot." I tried my best to stay vague, there was no need for Yoonsik to know all these useless details.
"Oh, cool, do all your brother's friends ride motorcycles?" He continued, and I just nodded, leaning on the palm of my hand as I daydreamed over that fine ass man.
"Yeah, more or less." I realised that I still had Jake's hoodie at my house, I suppose it called for another visit from him or something.
Honestly, if my thoughts were voiced out, I would sound like the most desperate person in the world.
"Do you prefer guys like that?" Yoonsik seemed to not realise how annoying these questions were, but regardless, I still answered them for the sake of being nice.
"Eh, not really." I gave a light sigh, Jake was the exception though, "I'm not a big fan of people who live like that. I like peace and quiet."
"Oh, cool cool." Yoonsik ended the topic at that, thank god, cause I was not about to go into the detail of my life nor my brother's best friend's life.

Upon closing the bakery, I had to stop by a few stores to grab a few essentials and whatnot. It was rather late and dark outside, but most of the shops were open until 10pm, so I still had a good few hours until they shut.
I made my way to the first store, it was a regular supermarket, and walking through aisles, I heard a familiar voice. Two, familiar voices for that matter.
"Where even were you this morning? I tried calling you." A female voice, resembling one of Yeju's came from the aisle beside me.
I was literally hiding behind an aisle full of snacks and what not. My body for some reason, just paused, would not let me move for a moment.
"Stopped by the bakery, why'd you call?" Jake's voice, too, came from the other aisle. And now my eyes widened, ah, shit, this man is genuinely everywhere.
"Where that girl works? You know I could've just got them for you instead, I pass by there after work." Yeju didn't sound too satisfied over the fact he went to the bakery.
"Her name is Ji-eun, and I have legs." Jake corrected her, and trust me, if it was socially acceptable, I would've walked over and kissed that man.
But let's just save that for another date instead.
"Ji-eun, yeah, whatever. I thought Heeseung doesn't like you being around her." Yeju scoffed initially, but her voice became a little sweeter after realising that Jake clearly didn't share the same hatred for me as she did.
"I don't care what Heeseung has to say." Jake simply responded, and pressing my lips together, I just threw the closest thing on the shelf into my basket, scurrying out of the aisle with a suppressed smile.
But of course, I wasn't sure whether it was considered luck or not, the moment I was about to leave the aisle I was in, the two of them walked in, causing us both, to just stand there and look at each other in surprise.
Jake's eyes were on me, mine were on his, and Yeju was staring over at me too.
Talk about awkward.
