Love creeps in quietly, but....did he really not hear its footsteps?

CLARA'S POV

"Wow, Clara, you are so talented!"
"I want to be like you."
"You are the best assistant I've ever seen."
"You have such an active mind!"
"God, you are so proactive."
"You'll definitely return to New York with Sir Ryan."
"I love you!"
"You did well."

I laughed as they hugged me over and over. Louisa embraced me tightly.

Everyone waved at me. Everyone wanted to be my friend. Everyone gave me gifts. I felt accepted—my efforts were finally being acknowledged. For the first time ever, I was truly happy.

As I waited for Ryan, I chatted with Louisa and the other nurses.

My phone was flooded with calls—my mother, Matron Linda, Diana, Dr. Tony, my friends from the hospital. I laughed so much. I was overwhelmed with joy.

In the AGHC group chat, I saw videos of our surgery. A matron had posted them to encourage other nurses to be proactive. Then, Anna dropped a like. She never reacted to anything posted there. In fact, most of the nurses don't even know her personally.

Her single like sent the entire hospital into chaos.

I just laughed as I read the flood of encouraging comments.

I wiped my tears, smiling, as I scrolled through messages from the same nurses who had once mocked me.

Even after Louisa and Samantha left, I continued smiling, brushing away the tears that wouldn't stop falling.

Then, the moment I saw Ryan approaching, I wanted to hug him so tightly. But, of course, he was on a call with Anna. That alone reminded me of my place.

He opened the car door and signaled for me to come over. I rushed to him with a bright smile.

AUTHOR'S POV ✍️

R.D HOSPITALS

The meeting hall was filled with investors and board members. A massive building was displayed on the projector.

"So, like I said, our target is Switzerland," the director announced.

"But we need an external investor for this—someone extremely wealthy," the accountant added.

"Not only that," Mr. Dervantes interjected, "we need someone who won't make too many demands."

"And we've found the perfect investor," the research manager said. "Liam King. He's young, wealthy, and currently looking for promising ventures to invest in."

"Over forty companies have already pitched to him, and he rejected them all. But I believe Dervantes Health World stands a chance," the director said.

"Of course. We're as wealthy as  he is, so we can't scam him. We're not bankrupt, nor are we struggling—we're just doing business," the chief auditor noted.

"Where is he now? We need to send an agent to meet him," Mr. Dervantes said.

"We'll look into that," the research manager replied.

"All hands on deck. We must get Liam on board," Mr. Dervantes commanded.

"Yes, sir," they all responded as he walked out.

CLARA'S POV

We returned to the hotel. I noticed they had left clothes for us—sweatpants and white T-shirts. The outfit was simple yet stylish.
