Chapter 91

Kiara didn't know what to feel at all.One second,she was filled with joy,the next she was knocked over with the idea of her missing out on a season of racing.
She sat on the cold tiles of the floor with her face buried in her hands,a few tears slipping out as she tried to hold back a sob.She was trying to be quiet in the bathroom.She really was,but she couldn't help but choke out that sob.So,she turned on the water and let it spill out into the washbasin so Carlos wouldn't hear her.She couldn't believe...She just couldn't believe it.This would put her out of the next season entirely.
And Carlos...God,she didn't know how Carlos would react.
And she was scared.Really scared.
With her heart pounding in her chest,Kiara wiped away a few of her tears.She stood up from the floor and threw away the pregnancy test before turning off the water.
She swallowed and took a few deep breaths to calm down.
"Mi amor,the food is done."Carlos said outside the door.
"Okay,"Kiara replied."I'll be out in a minute."
She looked at herself one more time in the mirror,took another deep breath,then walked out of the bathroom.

"My God."Lando laughed,throwing his hands up in defeat.
"Haha."Ivy pointed a finger at him after beating him to the last slice of pizza.
Kiara smiled and sat back on the couch.She watched as Lando walked off to fetch one of the board games they were going to play soon,then she watched as Ivy walked over to the kitchen of Lando's apartment.
She was trying to distract herself from the disaster of the morning before.She hadn't told Carlos yet at all.And she didn't know when she would.She had seen enough things online and heard too many stories to know the different outcomes of situations like this.There was a point where the man she loved would either leave her for it or he would refuse to leave her side.And that first factor really scared the shit out of her.
When changing into her hoodie earlier on before leaving for Lando's place,she hadn't failed to notice the very small bump on her belly.She hadn't thought of it much before taking the test.She had thought it to be a simple weight gain during that time of the month was supposed to come,which it obviously didn't. After all,she hadn't been entirely active that weekend.
Kiara desperately felt like telling someone,though,before Carlos.She was going to consider telling Ivy or someone else.But she couldn't work up the courage to do it.
"Okay,I'm back."Carlos chuckled as he walked into the apartment with a bag in his hands.
"Finally,you muppet."Lando said as he came back into the lounge and put a few board games on the table.
Carlos walked into the lounge and set down a pack of beers on the table.He sat down next to Kiara and put an arm around her,giving her a kiss on the cheek and asking."So what are we playing?"
"Still deciding."Lando said,looking through the games.
Ivy walked over and sat down to Kiara's right,pulling out a beer from the pack Carlos had brought.She handed one to Lando,then offered Kiara one.Kiara only shook her head and didn't accept.
Carlos whistled lowly and Lando laughed."Kiara Wolff is declining a beer?I think the world is ending."
"Not in the mood."Kiara told them.
"That's not weird at all."Carlos winked as he grabbed his own bottle.He offered her a sip,she still shook her head.
Lando eventually pulled out a board game.And when Kiara saw that it was Monopoly,she knew things were going to get chaotic.So,with a smile,she just continued to play with them.
And throughout it,she couldn't stand to look at Carlos when she knew she was hiding something so big from him.
