Kiara,in her sleep that threatened to leave, stretched her arms out and searched for what she needed to feel. She set her hands on the pillow beneath her head dragged it down, clutching it close as if it was a specific person. She held the pillow to her chest and mumbled a name, then a few other words. She didn't feel as warm as she had during the night. The space she occupied felt empty. And instead of being upon the person she had fallen asleep on,she felt another surface beneath her.
There was a clatter nearby, the sound of a piece of cutlery falling.Kiara immediately woke up,opening her eyes to find that she was still in the lounge. She was on the sofa, the blanket draped upon her as she was sprawled across the surface of the couch. She blinked a few times, trying to recall something.Something was missing...
Oh! She nearly said aloud and came to the realisation. She sat up,blinking against the sunlight that poured through the window nearby. She quickly glanced around the room. Then, paused as her gaze landed on the kitchen.
Kiara watched Carlos, his back to her as he readied something in the kitchen. That must have been the reason for the piece of cutlery falling. She caught the scent of something warm and sweet. He seemed to be making breakfast.
"Carlos?"She said, watching as he started to clean up the kitchen.
He paused, glancing over his shoulder with a slight smile."Look who decided to wake up."
"What..."She exhaled, then thought back to the moments of the previous night.
Carlos picked up a plate of food from the counter and walked towards her.He set down the plate of pancakes on the low table in front of the couch, moving to sit beside her.She arched a brow, wondering how he could have possibly thought of making it out of scratch instead of ordering room service. But a moment later, she started to be a little grateful for something that he had kindly done.
There's goes the plan to chase him out by the morning... She smiled to herself at the thought.
Carlos sat down beside her,not too close, just in case she wanted a little space after literally being in his embrace most of the night.
Kiara swallowed at the memory, trying to ignore it and act normal, trying to play it cool as if it wasn't playing on her mind from the moment she woke up.
"You could've just ordered room service."She said to him, implying that she also wanted to know why he bothered to make it out of scratch."Or we could have gone downstairs too."
He smiled."You don't want to try my pancakes?"
"What? No,it not that-" She shook her head.
"Relax,Cariño."He chuckled."I was only joking."
She rolled her eyes and said."I knew that."
"Sure,you did."He winked.
"But,anyway..."
"Room service wasn't picking up.I tried calling already.And..." He looked down at his watch. "And we aren't exactly on time for breakfast,if you were keen on doing it downstairs."
Kiara frowned, then quickly glanced at the clock on the wall.
She gasped."Eleven o'clock?"
"Yes-"
"And you didn't wake me up?!"She said."Carlos,we both have to be at the airport by twelve!"
"Oh,I tried to wake you up."He said."The first time you turned away from me and ignored me.The second time I tried, you threatened me.Then, the third time you were about to kick me."He soon added."Again."
She scowled his way and stood up from the sofa."I have to start packing and-"
"Wait," He stopped her by grabbing her wrist and pulling her back down onto the couch. She gave him a questioning look, then lowered her gaze to the hand he had on her wrist. He noticed the look she gave him and immediately let go of her,but soon added."I already packed your bags for you."
"Wait,what?"She arched a brow."How did you-"
"You can do a quick check after you're done getting ready."He said."But other than that,"He gestured to the plate of pancakes. "Eat up,then go get ready."
She didn't know what to say.Or rather how to say what was in mind. And those words in her mind were just two simple words. Thank you.
"What about you?"She asked.
"I do what I have to in advance,Kiara."He smiled."Not leaving it for last minute."
She let out a long breath and shook her head, saying."Damn you,Sainz."
"You're welcome,Wolff."He said,standing up from the couch.
He walked over to kitchen and grabbed a glass, filling it with some orange juice. While he did so,he said."So,when are you going to unblock me on all of your social media platforms?"
Kiara, still looking down at the food he made for her, frowned. She had forgotten about that. After the incident on Sunday, she still had him blocked online.A petty move, but she did it out of anger towards him.
"I don't know."She shrugged."When I feel like it."
"You mean when you're not pissed at me anymore?"
"Maybe." She told him.
He leaned against the kitchen counter, looking directly at her. "Can i get some sympathy after last night?"
"Can we not talk about last night?"She said, picking at the pancakes with a fork.
He lifted his chin."Maybe I was supposed to take a picture to post on my Instagram."
"Carlos."She said,warningly.
"Lydia would have told me to do it."He grinned.
"Shut up."She snapped, wanting to slap that grin off his face.
"It's fine."He said, his tone indicating that he was in a mood to tease her a bit. "You were in the mood to cuddle, you stayed."
"Hey!"She pointed the fork his way."Let me remind you that you're the one staying in my room."
He smiled and just observed her as she got annoyed.
"And you're the one who pulled me down onto the sofa in the first place." She added.
"And you're the one who stayed." He pointed out.
"I hate you." She sighed, shaking her head.
He shrugged, then walked over to her and set down the glass of juice he had poured. He cleaned up a little in the kitchen as she ate, then walked over to the hotel room door.
"See you downstairs." He left the hotel room, shutting the door behind him as he left.
Kiara swore under her breath and lightly pushed her plate away.
"Embarrassing little-" She mocked herself and stood up from the couch. She pushed away any thoughts of the night before and quickly made her way to get ready to leave.
