Kiara walked towards the entrance of the hotel, waving at the fans who had now all come around for the Silverstone grand prix. She smiled a little and stopped to sign a few items, then walked into the hotel.
To be honest, she was feeling a little excited about this weekend. She had just come back from the paddock for media relations since it was Thursday. And even while there, there was a nice feel to the atmosphere. This was a track that Kiara liked, since she was good at it.
And this weekend, she planned to push for another win.She wanted to catch up to Max on points, even start to get ahead. She tried to set aside what happened in Austria, rather focusing on what she can still do instead of dragging on about what she could have done.
In her hotel room, she sat down on the couch and sat in silence for a few moments.
Yes,this was all exciting. But not all was too good.
This weekend would bring back memories of last year...Nathan cheating,Carlos confessing after his first ever F1 win and Kiara rejecting him. Moreover,it was the fact that Amber was still around.Kiara didn't know what happened between Nathan and Amber. But she assumed that Nathan probably got dumped since Amber was most-likely suddenly after Carlos.
Kiara checked the time. She didn't know what to do.Well, aside from maybe ordering room service for dinner.
She got up from the couch and moved over to dial the room service line. She waited a few moments, then frowned to herself as nobody picked up.She tried again. But they didn't pick up.
"I guess I'm going downstairs."She muttered to herself, grabbingher things and going out of her hotel room.
She walked down the hallway, approaching the elevator.
But as she waited, she felt a presence from behind.
Carlos stepped beside her, waiting for the elevator too.
She nearly sighed at his presence. Why the hell did he have to be at same hotel?
They didn't say anything, nor did they look at each other as the elevator doors opened.
She stepped in first and him after, both ignoring each other's presence.
Kiara clicked the button of the floor she was going to.When he didn't push any of the other buttons, she assumed that he was going to the same floor.
The silence was enough for Kiara to consider just stopping at the nearest floor and taking the stairs.
But after a second,he said."Your make-up is smudged."
She frowned."Excuse me?"
He gestured to her face, her eye liner.
"Oh."She muttered. She pulled out her phone from her pocket and used the camera to get a look at it.Oh,god that was embarrassing.
She would have to go to the nearest restroom just to sort that out.
"It's on your shirt too."He said, motioning with a hand to her white button-up shirt.
Her eyes widened and she looked down at herself.
As she quickly looked for the smudge,he almost smiled and she stopped, glaring up at him."What?"
"I was joking."He said,looking away.
She rolled her eyes, not saying anything as the elevator finally came a to a stop.
The doors opened and they stepped out.
Kiara didn't spare him any glances. She just continued towards the bathrooms nearby.
Once inside, she immediately went to the mirrors and check on what she had smudged. She normally didn't choose to wear make-up much because she was always racing or training. And when she did decide to wear, she sometime needed Alora's help.
She fixed up the eye liner,re-doing her mascara too.But just as she did so,someone else came over to the sink next to her after leaving one of the bathroom stalls.
"You might need a little more than that."Amber commented, clearly mocking Kiara.
"And you might need to look at the mirrors in front of you before speaking about others."Kiara said, trying to sound unbothered.
Amber frowned.
Kiara just gave her a false smile, asking."Was there something you actually needed to tell me or are you just wasting my time?"
She narrowed her eyes, but didn't reply.
Kiara looked her up and down, then turned to leave the bathroom.
She walked out, feeling Amber's gaze directly on her even as she left.
Kiara ignored it and walked over to the hotel's restaurant.
She went inside and was shown to a table near the terrace that overlooked the streets and buildings outside. After sitting down and ordering her food, she pulled out her phone and texted Ivy,asking where she was.Ivy replied a minute later, saying that she was at a team meeting.
Kiara sighed, putting her phone away. She sat there, actually enjoying the feeling of sitting alone for dinner that night.
But then she glanced nearby and noticed the waiter showing Carlos to one of the tables. And with Carlos, standing close to him,was Amber.
Kiara rolled her eyes to herself as she saw them sit down at the table that was only a few meters away from her own.
She sighed, eventually looking away and diverting her gaze to the view outside. But even as she did so,she thought about how Carlos had snapped at her about how Amber wasn't anything to him.
For some reason,Kiara couldn't help but think of it all to be wrong. It felt wrong.
As her food was given to her,Kiara looked back at those two.She noticed Carlos shift in his seat as Amber made some comment. He nodded a few times, seeming to agree with a lot of the things that she said.
With only her thoughts to herself as she sat alone nearby,Kiara just shook her head and started to eat her food.
But when she looked up again, she found herself glancing over at him again.
Though, she felt her cheeks heat as he caught her doing so,since he had already been looking in her direction.
She quickly looked away. But his gaze lingered for a second, also slowly drifting to the empty seat in front of her.
Amber said something and Carlos snapped his attention back to her, completely forgetting about Kiara again.
Kiara tried not to be bothered by it.But after a few moments,Amber laughed at something he said.Carlos soon laughed too,but suddenly went quiet after a second.Amber was more of the talkative one there.
Kiara called the waitress over and payed the bill, taking the food as a take-away to have in her room instead.
She stood up from her chair, not glancing that way at all as she left the restaurant and went up to her room.

"That's a wrap.Come back to the garage."Santiago said.
"What positions?"Kiara asked him as she brought her car back to the garage.
"P2."
"Okay."She said,content with the result of FP2.
Practice one had also gone well. She had gotten third. Now,all she had to push for was a win here at Silverstone.
But there were a few problems with it.
Max was pushing to keep ahead even more. And Ferrari, since Carlos had won here last year, were also trying again. And moreover,Mclaren seemed to be getting ahead of Mercedes already.
In the garage,Kiara took off her helmet and balaclava, almost smiling. The car felt good. One of the few things that actually did this weekend.
"Keep it up."Christian walked by,giving her a pat on the shoulder.
She nodded his way, then walked over to Santiago as he showed her some results and options open for the weekend.
After, she went outside and met up with Lydia.
"How's things at home?"Kiara asked her manager, since she lived around here.
"All good."Lydia smiled.
They walked towards the media pen, since Kiara was one of the first drivers who were going to be interviewed.
Thankfully, she wasn't being interviewed by Nathan, who was also here since he worked for a company in London. He was too busy interviewing the Ferrari drivers.
But then Kiara caught on.He was interviewing the Ferrari drivers?
She glanced their way, seeing Carlos step ahead for his interview.
And for once,Kiara really wanted to see how it would go down. She actually wanted Nathan to give Carlos a hard time in that moment, give Carlos what he deserved.
She almost felt bad for thinking that. But then thoughts about last night at the restaurant came up.
"Your turn."Lyda motioned for Kiara to go to one of the other journalist nearby.Kiara nodded, then went ahead.
