Chapter 51

"Are you sure?"Kika asked.
"Yeah."Kiara nodded,standing up from the couch and showing her that she could walk proper now,only a very slight limp with it.It was two days since the hike.Two days since she had gotten hurt.As it was,Kiara had missed out on going to the club yesterday because the damn ankle.She couldn't really go long walking without feeling the throb.So,she had stayed behind at the villa.
But today was different.She felt much better,able to walk more.Her ankle wasn't swollen as much as before either.
And today,she wasn't going to spend her last full day in Almafi sitting at the villa.
"I can go out,today."Kiara said with a smile.
"Actually,"Daniel said."We aren't going anywhere."
"What?"Kika frowned.
He walked into the room."I'm having a little party."
"A party?"Kiara arched a brow."Just us?"
"I invited Carlos and Amber too,since they're here.And also a few other friends."
"You have other friends visiting the same place?"
"Nope,"Daniel shook his head."They live here in Amalfi.One of them is actually the owner of this villa."
"Oh."Kiara arched a brow.
"So that's where you went the other day?"Esteban said,coming into the room.
Daniel shrugged."What?I couldn't just stay here and not go see them."
"Fine,whatever."Kiara gave a dismissive wave."When is the party?Later in the evening or...?"
"Starts in an hour."Daniel said."Going on till tonight."
"What?" Kiara frowned."I don't even have enough time to get ready!" She was still in her pajamas,still looking as though she had just woken up.
"Um,hello?"Daniel shrugged."Didn't you get the hint when you saw Pierre already setting up the place earlier?"
"So that's where he went."Kika sighed.
"I'm going to get ready."Kiara shook her head,slowly making her way back to her room.

Carlos Sainz

"Why are you telling me this in such short notice?!"Amber snapped,going over the cupboard and pulling out something to wear.
"Because I didn't plan the party?"Carlos arched a brow.
She clicked her tongue,grabbing her things and going into the bathroom."It's literally almost sunset.I wanted to go with you to-"
Carlos sighed,shaking his head."Just go get ready."
He didn't really want her to come along to the party.
Especially since he was planning to speak to Kiara properly while there.
He couldn't wait much longer.He had to speak to Kiara,tell her about how Amber had lied to him and how everything was just a big misunderstanding.
Carlos went to freshen up in the other bathroom,shaving a little one time.For some reason,he wanted to look at his best today.
After getting ready,he waited for Amber in the lounge.Technically,they were a little late.The party started early in the evening.Night was already coming dowm.If he really could,he would have just ditched her and went to the party by himself.Amber wasn't even support to be on this trip on the first place with him.
But before that,he had already agreed to let her help him forget about everything.Which was a hug mistake.Besides,he wasn't even into that type of a thing,friends with benefits.Why would he when his mind was constantly on someone else?
"Amber,hurry up."Carlos said.
"Coming."She said."Just calm down."
A moment later,she walked out if the bedroom,wearing a mini-skirt and having her hair done up.
She stood there for a second,as if expecting  some reaction from Carlos.When he didn't show anything towards it,she muttered something and grabbed her handbag,making her way to the door.
Carlos made his way to leave,shoving his phone into the pocket of his jeans.
He soon left the hotel room and started to leave for the party.

Reaching the villa,the first thing Carlos did was stop the car and tell Amber to go ahead.
"What?"Amber frowned.
"I need to make a phone call."Carlos told her."I'll be there in a minute."
She looked at him for a moment,then finally got out of the car.
Carlos pulled out his phone and dialled Daniel a second later.
"You here?"Daniel asked when he picked up.
"Yeah,outside,actually."Carlos said."I sent Amber in so long."
"Oh,okay."
"Just making sure,Daniel..."
"Yeah?"
"Are you sure she seems fine after the hike?"He asked."Is she fine with me even coming today?"
"Carlos,she didn't object to it."Daniel said reassuringly."Just get inside already."
"Okay,fine."Carlos said."See you in a minute."
He hung up and put his phone away,getting out of the car and approaching the front door.
Amber was already waiting there for him.
The door opened and Pierre poked his head out,saying."Oh,hey."
He opened the door and Carlos nodded."How you doing,mate?"
Pierre gave Carlos a pat on the back as he walked in,saying."Can't wait to grab a drink already."
Carlos chuckled,walking into the villa.
He looked around as he walked towards the terrace in the back,seeing everyone else already there.
"Hey,Carlos."Daniel waved from nearby,motioning him over.
Carlos put on a smile,walking over to where Daniel,Esteban and someone else stood.
"Carlos,this is Eric."Daniel introduced him to the other guy."He owns the villa."
"Buonasera."Eric said,shaking Carlos' hand."A pleasure to meet you,Sainz."
Carlos nodded,greeting him back in Italian.
They spoke for a little bit,Eric mentioning his business here in Italy.
After a few minutes,the door to the terrace opened again and Kika walked out,walking over to Pierre.But behind her,Kiara finally walked out.
Carlos paused his conversation with Eric,watching Kiara as she walked out,wearing a black denim romper and her brown hair loose at her shoulders.
"Carlos."Esteban said.
"Yeah?"Carlos snapped his gaze away from Kiara.
"Can I speak to you for a moment?"He asked,though made it seem as if Carlos didn't really have an option.
Carlos gave a tight nod to Daniel and Eric,then followed Esteban to one side of the terrace.
As they stood at the railing,Carlos asked."What?"
"Look here,Carlos.I don't want to start any fights here,"Esteban said."But all I'm saying is stop.Stay away."
Carlos arched a brow,knowing that he was referring to Kiara."And why is that?"
"Because you two are already done."He said,his expression darkening."You kissed someone-"
"Mind your own business,Ocon."Carlos said,trying to stay calm.
"No,"Esteban said."Not when you're interfering again."
Carlos paused and looked at Esteban for a long moment.Did he seriously think that Kiara would just move on so fast?Move on and be with him?
"You think that she wants you?"Carlos said."You think that she'd really go for it?"
"She'll know that it's better than being around you."Esteban said."After all,you'd just hurt her again."
"Listen here-"
"Stay away from her,Carlos."He said sternly."Just back off.Don't think that I haven't seen what you're trying to do."
"Wow,"Carlos scoffed "And what am I  "trying to do" now?"
"You're trying to get closer to her again."He frowned."It's not going to work.Just stop already."
"And if I don't?"Carlos shrugged.
"Then,I'll come after you."He put a hand on the railing.
Carlos almost laughed at that."I'd like to see you try,Ocon."
Esteban gripped the railing harder,his gaze now filled with anger.
"Go ahead."Carlos said."Just try it."
He narrowed his eyes,lowering his tone as he said."She knows better now than to even give you another look in the sense that you want."
Carlos lifted an eyebrow and stepped closer to Esteban.He put his hands into the pockets of his jeans and quietly said."If that's so,I wonder why her eyes were on me while your lips were on hers."
Esteban went quiet,finally.
Carlos gave him a smile,then walked away.
