Chapter 95

Kiara Wolff

"I want that one."Kiara said,pointing to a box of her favorite chocolates on the top shelf.
Carlos,who was checking out a few things nearby in the store they were in,walked over with a lifted eyebrow. This morning,he had tried to speak to her properly over breakfast. About the night before...But she didn't want to tell him. Not when he was so excited about the baby. She couldn't ruin that happiness for him by expressing her own feelings.
When she hadn't told him anything,he had insisted on taking her shopping around Monte Carlo. She felt bad at first,but eventually gave in.
"This one."She said,pointing at the box of chocolates while trying to reach for it.
Carlos came up beside her and put on hand on her back,then used the other to reach up and grab the chocolates off the top shelf.
"What else?"He asked and put it in the shopping basket as he looked down the aisle of shelves.
"Nothing else."She said.
He clicked his tongue,shaking his head. "Come on. Take whatever else you want."
"Really?"
"Mhm."He nodded,winking as he grabbed one of her hands and started to pull her down the aisle. "Well,as long as it's not something that will put you on a sugar rush where you punch me."
"So no more candy?"She frowned.
"Yes."He said."Besides,all that sugar can't be good for the baby."
She nodded in agreement,walking with him through the store till she found something else she wanted.
"You know what I cant wait to do?"He said."I can't wait till we go for an ultrasound."
"Me too." She said with a smiled. "And I also can't wait to buy everything for the baby."
"And to decorate a room."He added,now smiling even more.
She looked up at him softly. And when he looked down at her,he seemed so happy that she just wanted to hug him right then and there.
He leaned down and kissed her cheek,then said."So...who are we telling first?"
"Who do you want to?"She asked,giving him the option first.
"I don't know."He shrugged."Maybe...Your parents?"
"What about your parents?"She asked.
He sighed,running a hand through his hair. "Maybe we can just tell our parents all on one day and everyone else slowly later on."
"Yeah,"She nodded. "But...In person?"
"We can go to Austria if you want."He suggested. "And then Madrid. So that would be over about three days."
"Sound fine."She said.
"Your dad's first going to congratulate us...Then,he's going to probably kill me..."
"Ugh,relax Carlos."Kiara laughed,playfully hitting his arm. "He is not going to kill you."
"Toto scares me." Carlos sighed.
"You say that everytime we're about to see him."
"Because he always gives me a death stare."
Kiara just laughed,saying. "Well,I'll make sure he doesn't do that when we go visit soon."
"Thanks."
They started to round up their shopping,checking that they hadn't forgotten anything. Then,Carlos random said."Is this a bad time to tell you that...Ferrari doesn't..."
"What?"Kiara frowned.
"Ferrari does want to renew my contract."
They stopped walking,Kiara turning to face him."Wait...What?!"
"I was going to tell you earlier,but I just put it aside when you told me about the baby." He said. "Ferrari...Well,they haven't been giving me a straight answer. No matter how hard I try to extend the contract."
"Oh my God." Kiara said,shaking her head. She stepped closer to him and pulled him into a hug. "Carlos,I am so sorry."
He put an arm around her and sighed."We can only wait and see what decision they make in the end."
"They're stupid if they let you go."She said as they pulled apart.
He shrugged. But his sad expression slowly changed as he said."Well...Let's just focus on our kid for now."
She looked at him for a moment with a little sympathy. But she just gave a weak smile eventually and gave his hand a reassuring squeeze.
